Principal's Corner
Greetings,
The month of May will be a busy one for St. John School. We start by showing our appreciation to all our staff and volunteers. In my 38 years of education I would say this staff is one of the best I have worked with. Also, our volunteers are so important to our school by helping with task to keep our school running smoothly and by providing extra activities that make our school great. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers!
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell
Here's What's New:
Bus Transportation to Lexington Catholic
LCHS Launching a Pilot Bus Program: School administration has spent the past year studying challenges faced by our school families living outside of Fayette County. One of the concerns repeated most often was the issue of the daily time, effort and cost in transporting students to Lexington Catholic. After several months of research and planning, we hope to establish a pilot bus transportation program for the Georgetown/Scott County area beginning this August for the 2014-15 school year. Please check out Lexington Catholics website for more detailed information.
Year Book Picture request 2013-2014 Yearbook is Being Completed!
We once again have a small, dedicated group of ladies who are currently working on this year's yearbook. However, we need your help!! Over 300 pictures have already been uploaded to the yearbook website, but we are missing pictures from several events that we would like to highlight in this year's book. We desperately need fall pictures fromthe Barn Dance, Science Fair, and girls' basketball team. We need spring pictures from golf and any U6 and U8 soccer games. If you have any of these, or any daily classroom or recess pictures, please share them with us. The process is easy!
If you have any questions or problems, please contact Colleen Reinhart at [email protected] and she will be happy to assist you! There are still quite a few events left in the school year, such as the Art Show and band concert, Field Day, numerous special field trips, and Kindergarten and 8th grade graduation, so if you are at any of these events, please take some pictures so we can all share in the memories! Thank you very much for your consideration and your help!!!
Thank you fromthe Kovach Family
From Dana & Jon Kovach: "Thank you so much for all the effort everyone put into helping us surprise our children (last Friday). We truly appreciate the time and effort that everyone put into making this a memorable experience for our family. Everyone went above and beyond our wildest dreams. This is something we will never forget. Words cannot express our gratitude for your generosity."
Thank you Chick-fil-A
Dear MegAnn Leigh and Chick-fil-A staff,
St. John's Catholic School in Georgetown, Kentucky, would like to extend a sincere thank-you for your kind donation of food trays. The surprise reunion of Major Jonathan Kovach with his family last Friday was indescribable. Although last minute, he was granted leave from Camp As Sayliyah in Doha, Qatar, to surprise his son, Nathan, for his First Holy Communion. The media and local newspapers were in attendance to capture the reunion. A reception followed the assembly. With your generous donation, it was a success as well.
Chick-fil-A's commitment to the community, the church, and to our troops is unparalleled. We sincerely appreciate all you did to make this event a success.
Thank you, again.
