Two quick staff updates. We have hired Mr. Maxwell as the new 5th grade teacher. He is very excited to join our community. We have also added Mrs. Litchfield as an assistant teacher for 1st grade and kindergarten. We are excited to have her join us for another year. Details on bios to follow.
Our Orientation Day is this Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Please take note below of the various areas of the campus that will be used during orientation. Also, please feel free to park anywhere on campus that day and remember to leave your supplies in your car for Part 1 & Part 2 and then drive/drive yourself (and all those supplies) closer to your classroom building so that it is a shorter carry to the classroom. Just be mindful of the 2-way traffic as you move between the 2 sides of the campus.
Orientation Schedule (3:00 – 5:00)
There are two sessions available; come for one or stay for both
Session I 3:00 – 4:00
Session II 4:00 – 5:00
Each session consists of 3 parts, start with Part 1 at either 3:00 or 4:00
Part 1 Check-in/Opening Comments/General Information (CHAPEL AT CARDOME)
Part 2 Table Visits/Questions (FIRST FLOOR CARDOME AND CAFETERIA/PARISH HALL)
Part 3 Classroom/Teacher Visits/Supplies Dropoff/Turn in Paperwork (CLASSROOMS)
Should you be unable to attend the Orientation, you may come by the school on Tuesday, August 15th to drop off students’ supplies and pick up paperwork between 9:00AM and 3:00PM. Please understand, however, that teachers will not be able to spend time with families during this final window while they prepare for the opening of school on Wednesday, August 16th.
Looking forward to seeing you at our Orientation and starting off our next amazing year!

Summer vacation has started! This brings up of thoughts of playing outside, hanging out with friends, swimming in the pool, going on vacation, reading your favorite book, and ............ RUNNING! Yes......... St. John Cross Country!! Running is a great way to meet new friends, have fun with old friends, challenge and push yourself personally, and have fun racing as a TEAM! On top of all of these perks, it also is a fantastic way to get in shape for other sports. All you need are a pair or running shoes, some water, and a great attitude! Our first priorities as coaches are to keep this fun and try to develop a love for lifelong running!
If you are interested and want to give it a try, official practices start on Monday, July 24th at 6 PM at Brooking Park by the big playground. We will have a short parents' meeting the following Monday, July 31st at the beginning of practice at 6 PM at the same spot. If you are not sure about it, still come out and give running a try for a week or two. No experience needed!
The summer Running Club headed by Coach Meghan Graham is another great way to get into running for the first time. Veterans -this is a super way to start getting some miles on your legs! This is going to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July. Be on the lookout for more information in the Office Notes from Coach Meghan about this!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] ! Looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces AND meeting a bunch of new folks! I hope everyone has a great start to the summer!
