Greetings,

What a way to come back from spring break – cold and snow on the ground! I hope everyone had a blessed Easter and a great spring break. It is great to see the students back and the campus bustling again. Only 35 days of school left. It is very important that students are in attendance, prepared, and ready to work. This is a very important time of year as we prepare them for next year.

Also, I really appreciate all the help we received from Linda Berry, Karen Boggess, Scott County Physical Therapy, and Wal-Mart Vision Center for our school health fair. Thank you for all you do to make our parish and school a great place!

	Here's What's New!!


	This Friday, April 13th will be an out of uniform day for a $1 donation. Remember we use these funds to help with the cost of field day.


	International Kite Festival April 21st and 22nd Once again this year St. John School will be having a booth with school information, arts and crafts and face painting at the festival. The festival is from 12-5pm each day. Come out and support the Rotary club, bring a kite and have some fun! If you would like to volunteer time in the booth please contact Miss Barb at [email protected].

	SIA Upcoming Events - Mark your Calendars!! Saturday, April 21st. Volunteer Appreciation Night at Slainte, 6pm - 9pm. Come out and join us as we thank YOU, the wonderful volunteers of Saint John School for all you do to make our school a great place! Saturday, April 28th SCHOOL HOUSE CHAMPIONS 5K SJS is now a participating member of the 5K! Please send in your registrations or ask how you can help. A portion of proceeds from the run will go back to our school for books and technology updates! 	Art News Art Room Extra Time The art show is coming upon us quickly and there are some students that need a little more time to get their work done. The art room will be open Monday from 3-4pm and Fridays 3-4pm to help students finish up their pieces. Please contact Miss Barb to let her know if you are coming so she may prepare. [email protected]. Thank you! April Art Clubs Tuesday Arts and Crafts Club April- For students Kindergarten to 3rd grade. 3pm-4pm. Cost $25. Drawing Class- For students grades 4-8th. 3-4pm. Cost is $50. Georgetown Kite and Cultural Festival April 21st and 22nd from Noon to 5pm. Volunteers needed for Arts and Crafts project, Ambassadors for St. John school enrolment and for face painting. Bring the family and come and fly a kite! 	St. John's 15th Annual Art show is Thursday, May 3rd, from 3pm to 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to join us in seeing the beautiful art work that our students have been engaged with this year! Art Show Art Work Pick up This year we are going to try something new! Instead of all the art work being brought back to school, we are designating Friday and Saturday as student art work pick up days. Please stop by on Friday, May 4th from 2pm-7pm for art work pick up and then again from 9 am-1pm Saturday, May 5th for art work pick up. Work not picked up will be returned to students at school. Thank you for helping out by picking up your students art work on these days!

	Guardian Angel Grants Lexington Catholic offers a limited number of grants to families of incoming freshmen who have 100% demonstrated need. The Guardian Angel Grants were created to honor donor requests to ensure that young men and women with this level of demonstrated need have an opportunity to enjoy the Lexington Catholic educational experience.
