Well, we made it through the first two days! This week is off to a great start with slightly cooler temps today and lots of smiling faces. The students will be visiting their "specials" classes this week as well, which should keep things interesting for them. Today starts Spanish for most of them! Art, technology, and PE will follow this week as well. A reminder that music will start after Labor Day. Circle of Grace lessons begin tomorrow during the music slot for grades K-5 up until Labor Day.
Please be on the lookout for updates from Saints in Action (SIA). Raffle tickets are now in hand here at the school and distribution will start shortly. Each family is asked to sell 5 tickets. The proceeds from the raffle directly support the operation of the school. Also, volunteer lists for helping at school, at lunch, and with other functions and fundraising are and will continue to be put together. Come get involved! The first SIA meeting is August 23, 2022 at 6:30 PM. Please make plans to have at least one member of your family attend.
Drop off and pick up were pretty smooth and will get better as we get a few more days behind us. I thank you for your patience and your assistance in keeping things running smoothly and safely.
I am so very thankful that you are choosing St. John School to meet your educational needs. On behalf of the staff here, please pray for our efforts and health as we strive to guide your children each day closer to Christ and help them to become confident students!
Peace,
Mr. Mayer
IMPORTANT LUNCH INFORMATION
Parents/Guardians
Please be aware that the federal USDA waivers that provided free lunch and breakfast for all students for the past two years have not been extended for the 2022-2023 school year. Students that do not qualify for free and reduced benefits will be charged for breakfast and lunch when they return to school in August. Additional information on meal pricing will follow.
With school starting soon, as of August 11, 2022, all parents and guardians will be responsible for maintaining their student’s accounts. The cafeteria staff will no longer allow “Ala Carte”, “Snacks”, or “Extra Entrees”(ex: pizza) to be purchased unless funds are available in the student’s lunch account.
