Thank you for all your help in getting us off to a great start at St. John School. Getting you children here and in class by 7:45 am has really helped to set the tone for the day. The interruptions have decreased and the students are more focused. Also, the campus area has become much safer without having all the traffic!
As I toured the classrooms, it was very evident that we have a caring and hardworking staff. I was impressed with the interesting activities going on the first week. Remember if you have any questions please ask your child’s teacher.
Besides a great education, academically and spiritually, there are a variety of extracurricular activities. Some of these include cross county, robotics, and soccer. These activities provide a great way for both parents and children to know each other better.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell
Here's What's New!!
Important Information!! We would like to share a few school reminders as we start the school year.
Please make sure your child has a rain coat or a coat with a hood on rainy days. They must walk to the cafeteria, specials classes, PE and church.
At the end of the school day, please do not stop on Military Street to wait for the gates to open. This is for the safety of everyone as we have almost had several accidents from cars trying to pass stopped cars.
When exiting the parking lot remember that we ask you not to turn left on to Main Street. It is very dangerous, causes a back up in our carpool line and also involves being respectful of others.
Don't forget to sign the Contact Between Parent, Student and School 2018-2019. This form is in the back on the School Handbook you received at orientation.
We are in desperate need of cafeteria volunteers. If you are interested please contact the school office.
Order forms for PE tee shirts are due Monday, August 27th. This will be the only order of the school year so please order your tee shirts and sweatshirts.
Saints in Action Meeting Saints in Action (SIA) is the school parent group that meets monthly to coordinate fundraising and fun events for the school. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people And get involved. We always love new members! Our first meeting of the year will be this Thursday, August 23rd at Slainte pub downtown at 7pm. Please come and check it out. We are working on planning the Halloween barn dance and the Santa shoppe. Free SJS car magnet for all who attend. We hope to see you there!
SOCCER SIGNUPS END WEDNESDAY Scott County YMCA Soccer Signups end Wednesday. Please go to the YMCA website and sign your child up if you haven’t already. Please let Neal Thompson(502-797-3388 or [email protected]) know when you sign your child up if you haven’t already. Age Groups: 4/5 year olds 6/7 year olds 8/9 year olds 10-12 year olds
