First full week is in the books! Thank you for your efforts in keeping drop off and pick up so smooth. You will notice less directional signage around campus this week now that we have learned the paths and processes.
Please make sure that you make plans to attend the first Saints in Action (SIA) meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria. This opening meeting will cover a lot of useful information about the purpose and goals for the year and lay out all the ways that the school needs your involvement as well as give you a chance to ask questions and meet other school parents. I look forward to seeing you there!
SCHOOL PICTURE DAY is this Thursday, August 25, 2022. Please see the details below about what your student may wear and the charity that we are supporting this year.
Next week we will begin MAP testing. We are planning the process this week and will have details ready to go for next week.
We will have a visit today from the new Superintendent for the Diocese of Lexington, Dr. Kyle Lee. He has some great ideas about re-igniting Catholic education across the Diocese and I am looking forward to showing off what a great job St. John School students, faculty, and families are already doing this year!
Peace,
Mr. Mayer
Olive Porter, in 5th grade, was invited to paint a mural in the Sketch Pad at the Explorium this summer. The Sketch Pad is the museum’s art room. The Explorium folks gave Olive very little guidance on what to paint, and she developed her own concept for the mural. For the last four weeks she has been painting at the museum almost every day. She sketched and painted this mural completely on her own. Congratulations Olive! You have created a masterpiece!
