A little cooler start to the week today! Last Friday, I felt like our campus had been moved South by a few hundred miles!
Today we start our Fall MAP testing. This is a benchmark test taken throughout our Diocese (and most of the country) that measures academic progress. There are 3 tests, one in Reading, one in Language Usage (think grammar and vocab), and one in Math. We take one test a day and should be finished by the end of the week, with make up testing for those that miss it carrying into next week.
Speaking of next week, next Monday is Labor Day and the school and school office will be closed for the holiday. Enjoy the long weekend!
One item that you might like to take in this weekend is the Echo of Our Ancestors event occurring this Friday and Saturday right here at Cardome. You can find details at www.echoesofourancestors.com or this link to a flyer about the event. This year they are focusing on stories, families, and events from African American history right here is Scott County.
Peace,
Mr. Mayer
More KY State Fair Winners
St. John School had some additional winners at the State Fair this year. Genevieve Davis won a Red Ribbon for her portrait of her cat Glenda and big sister Beylah Davis won Blue Ribbons for poultry showmanship and the poultry skillathon. If anyone else has any State Fair winners from this summer, please share with the office and we will share with our school community!
