READ ALL ABOUT IT – ST. JOHN SCHOOL MAKES THE FRONT PAGE OF THE GEORGETOWN GRAPHIC NEWSPAPER FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL STREAM CONFERENCE! Students had a great day last Tuesday completing various STREAM activities at Cardome. The day can be best summed up by a student who said he wished that they could have school out at Cardome and do activities like this every day. I want to thank all the parents and teachers for making this a phenomenal day for our students.

Remember to spread the word about iGiveCatholic. Tuesday, December 3, is a national day of giving. This year all funds will go toward updating our kindergarten and gearing it more to a STREAM education classroom. Please encourage friends and relatives to donate to this great cause which helps our school and makes a better environment for our CCD classes. You can donate online or send a check into the office for this campaign. See the notes below or the church bulletin for more details.

With only three weeks before the end of the 2^nd quarter and Christmas break, it is very important to make sure students are here and well rested. There is a lot of material that will be covered before the end of the quarter. We appreciate your help with this matter and thank you for everything you do to make St. John School a great place.

	St. John will have our annual Santa Shoppe next week, December 9th - 12th. Students will receive envelopes this week to budget for the shoppe. Teachers will let their classes know which day their class shops.

	Hello SJS! It's that time of year again! Georgetown's Home for the Holidays parade is this Saturday, Dec. 7th! This year’s theme is Singing in the Season! SJS float will be decorated all in white, gold and silver. We are asking everyone to wear light colored clothing or angel costumes if you already have one (not required). Anyone riding on the float will need to be in the school parking lot no later than 5:45. The float will feature a nativity scene and we will be singing "Silent Night". Cookies and Cocoa afterwards! 	Circle of Grace The safety of your children is always uppermost in our minds. In recent years, we have taken many steps to ensure our school is a safe place. All our staff and volunteers have received background checks and training in protecting our students. Before Christmas, we will be utilizing lessons from the “Circle of Grace” program in the religion classes. This program is endorsed by Bishop John Stowe and the United States Conference of Bishops. Lesson plans have been developed for our various grade levels and will offer specific instruction in safety. St. John School is using this as part of the diocesan environmental safety program. If you have any questions/concerns, contact me or please stop by your child’s classroom to view the content of the program.

	Hope Was Born This Night St. John School music program will present a Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. This concert will feature all of the students of St. John-preschool through 8th grade. The concert will feature singing, playing instruments, movement and readings. Come and join us! 7:00 p.m. will be Preschool through 3rd grade. Their part of the program will end at 7:20 p.m. 7:30 p.m. will be Fourth grade through eighth grade. Their part of the program will end at 8:00 p.m.


	Music Ministry Dates and Times-Christmas Choirs Christmas Choir for Adults The adult choir will be singing for Advent on Sunday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. and for the Christmas Eve Service on December 24 at 6:30 p.m. Join us for rehearsals! 	Box Tops For Education Box Tops is changing to fit today's families. The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to your school's earnings online. Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.
