Greetings,

I hope the long weekend gave you a chance to relax and rest. There are many exciting changes going on at St. John School. Next fall, we will be moving our preschool out to Cardome. The move will give us more classroom space and lots of greenspace. It will also open up some classroom space at our current location. Before spring break, we also hope to use our igiveCatholic funds to update our Kindergarten over spring break. We will be updating the classroom to make it more STREAM friendly.

I apologize for any confusion over our last snow day. Remember our policy has been to post any school closing to on the local television stations between 5:30-6:00 AM. Also, it will be posted on the official school Facebook page.

Please spread the word about our open house this Sunday, February 23. Word of mouth has been one of our best ways to attract new students!

	Here's What's New!!


	Tuition Assistant for the 2020-2021 school year! If you are in need of financial aid for the upcoming school year, please complete the financial aid application on the FACTS website. You will then need to schedule a meeting with Mr. Mardell. All applications for financial aid need to be completed by March 13th.


	Pep Rally! There will be a pep rally on Friday, February 21st to get our basketball teams ready for the tournament! The pep rally will start at 1pm in the Georgetown College Rec Gym. All are invited to come cheer on the cheerleaders and basketball teams! Basketball Tournament It’s time for middle school basketball February Madness! Let’s have everyone come out and cheer on our 5/6 grade and 7/8 grade basketball teams. Saturday, February 22 7/8 grade - 8:50am @ Lexington Catholic 5/6 grade - 4:20pm @ St. Leo


	Meet our children’s choir! We practice on Thursday afternoon at 3 pm in the music room in the undercroft. We will be singing for the Ash Wednesday service on 2/26 and the 10:30 am Mass on 3/1-the first Sunday in Lent. Come and join us!

LEXINGTON CATHOLIC MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD

Official start for MS Track is February 24. Please contact the MS Head Coach for information about the team and the optional conditioning practices starting the week of February 17.

	Preschool, Kindergarten, First and Second Grades Spring Music Program Nature Is.... Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. Come and join our early elementary students as we explore nature through sound, instruments and movement. We will be singing songs and speaking poetry. Our repertoire will include Rain, Rain Go Away; If All of the Raindrops; Mud; A Garden. Students will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Undercroft. Students will wear a shirt that is plain or with a picture of nature, jeans or school pants, and tennis shoes or rain boots.


	Music Ministry Children's Choir Come and join the children's choir! Grades 3-8. We will be singing on the first Sunday of the month for the 10:30 a.m. Mass and presenting 2 choir concerts this year. (Date and time TBA) The choir curriculum is based on the Royal School of Church Music Curriculum. Students will be earning certificates for levels of knowledge in reading music and learning to sing. Their program is called Voice for Life. Parents are welcome to attend a choir rehearsal or contact Denise to hear more about this exciting program! 	Box Tops For Education Box Tops is changing to fit today's families. The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to your school's earnings online. Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.

The easiest way to locate our school is to search ST JOHN, 40324 in the search box. You can also turn your lids and box codes into the school office.
