All 3 basketball teams won their games this weekend. If you have free time on a Saturday you should come cheer on our Saints!
MAP testing started today. Please make sure your students get plenty of rest and have a good breakfast on the days they test.

It finally looks like winter is here to stay a while! I was able to take in a couple of St. John School basketball games this weekend. They were very exciting with all three teams winning. We start MAP testing this week. These tests are very important because they show us how our students are progressing. Also, the test gives teachers information on the strengths and weaknesses of their students. Teachers are able to use the information to adjust instruction if needed. Please make sure your children come to school rested and ready to give their best effort.

School Closing Information
St. John School does not follow Scott County Public School closings. If St. John School closes you will see St. John- Georgetown on the following TV stations - WLEX 18, WDKY FOX 56, WKYT and WTVQ. Gala News
The 5th Annual Winter Gala will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Marriott Griffin Gate on Newtown Pike. We have a Mardi Gras theme this year with live New Orleans style music, photo booth, dancing and New Orleans style food stations! The silent auction items are amazing and benefit St. John church and school. The classroom art projects are incredible and unique. Pictures will be shared on the Facebook page soon! Get YOUR tickets from the parish office, $75 person or get a group together to sponsor a table and reserve your seat!

Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest
Once again this year, the Knights of Columbus are holding a free-throw contest for all boys and girls 9 thru 14 years of age. It is open to all boys and girls and gives them a chance to compete against their own age and gender. The event will be held Sunday, January 17th, at the Georgetown College Gym. Registration is at 11:45 AM and this FREE event will begin at 12:30 PM. All the kids need to do is show up ready to shoot 15 free throws. The 12 winners will receive a FREE BASKETBALL. Pizza and drinks will be provided after the event. The event, including pizza should be completed by 2 PM.

Job Description: Responsible for the assisting in the production and service of food for the school lunch program. Cleaning all areas of the kitchen areas to make sure they stay in compliance and following guidelines.
Job Requirements: Must have food serve experience and able to lift 40lbs. Must have a high school diploma or GED, become VIRTUS trained and agree to a background check. Have good people and communication skills with ability to take direction from supervisor.

Knights of Columbus Chili Cookoff
Saturday, January 16th after the 6:00 Mass in the undercroft. All the chili and hot dogs you can eat, $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Enter your favorite chili in the cookoff, contact Joe Caldwell at [email protected] or 502-868-5981.

Is your child missing a sweatshirt or coat? The lost and found box in the office is overflowing with items. Please stop in to see if they belong to your child.
SJS Basketball Schedule

Computer Lab Hours
The Computer Lab is open on Mondays from 3-3:30 for students who would like to take AR tests or practice typing.
Used Uniforms
Don't forget to stop by the office to purchase some gently used uniforms. You may also drop off all your old uniforms that don't fit anymore.
