Notes From the Office: Monday, January 14th, 2019Weekly Updates January 2019 Greetings,
I hope you enjoyed the little bit of snow we had this weekend. It was a good weekend for me to stay inside by the fire and eat a bowl of warm chili! During the next two weeks, students will be completing MAP testing. Please make sure they are rested, fed, and ready to test! Again, this is another way to assess how the students are growing in their academics.
Thank you to all the students and staff, especially Ms. Staub, for their great performance at our Epiphany Concert. The kids were enthusiastic about performing and it was a pleasure to watch them.
Robotics is going great and the groups will resume competitions soon. Our fifth and sixth grade boy's basketball team remain undefeated with a victory on Saturday. The seventh/eighth grade boys lost a tough game and the girls had a bye week.
Please join us for the "Heart to Heart/Dinner/Dance/Raffle on February 9th. This is a great opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day a little early. The event is also an opportunity to honor Father Bob for all his service to our parish and Catholic education. Please join us for an evening of fun and support our school.

THANK YOU so much for your ingenious prep of costumes and props for our SJS Epiphany Program - I was very much impressed and blessed by the turnout! I hope you enjoyed the result of your children's hard work and rehearsal and that my imagination organized something that your families will treasure :)

We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week soon! Your student should bring home an agenda for the week today. If you do not receive it, you can click here to download a copy. We have many exciting events happening over the week.
SS. Francis & John Parish and St. John School will be hosting a night of dining, dancing, and fun. The evening festivities include a concert by our own Hannah Staub, along with a raffle and silent auction. The theme of our night together is Heart to Heart: Adopt-a-Student - A Gift of Love. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the spirit of giving so prevalent in our parish.
In addition, we will have the opportunity to celebrate a man who embodies this spirit of giving; a man who has given his life to serve others, and to nurture and hand on the Catholic faith through the mission of his priesthood and the catechesis of young Catholics for more than 50 years: Fr. Bob Nieberding.
Please come and celebrate with us on February 9th at Cardome Centre as we honor Fr. Bob, and join in a community celebration to support the vital mission of education and evangelization. You can turn the forms in to the school or parish office with checks made payable to St. John School. Dinner tickets are $50 per person and raffle tickets are $20 each.

Dear Parents,
Our school will be participating in the SchoolStore program this year. This online program helps our school earn cash without students selling door-to-door, collecting money or delivering products. Over 400 merchants, including Best Buy, Target and WalMart, have joined together to offer up to 50% of sales to our school for shopping through SchoolStore.com.
To shop and support our school, simply go to www.schoolstore.com and select our school.
Participation is key in helping get the word out about our School Store. In January your child will come home with a parent packet requesting you to help them enter email addresses to friends and family. When you enter just 3 email addresses you'll receive a prize code your child can return the next day for a prize. Thank you for your families support of our school

The easiest way to locate our school is to search ST JOHN, 40324 in the search box. You can also turn your lids and box codes into the school office.
