MAP testing continues this week. Our middle school students worked very hard on the MAP and their class scores were above the national average. Please make sure you child comes to school rested and ready to test!
Catholic Schools Week starts with a kickoff Mass at 10:30 on Sunday, January 26th. The students will be handling the ministries at this Mass. Students who join us dressed in full Mass uniform will receive a dress down day pass. This is a great time for students to celebrate St. John Catholic School.
On Sunday, January 26, the Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual free throw contest. Registration begins at 2:30 at the Georgetown College gym. Pizza and drinks will be served afterwards. This is a wonderful way to have some fun with your friends and test your free throw skills! Hope to see you there.

A Scout is reverent. St. John’s BSA Pack 167 would like to invite ALL Scouts past and present to our annual Scout Sunday Mass, Feb. 9th at 8:30 am. Calling all Packs, Troops, Adventures, Eagles and more, please join us in celebrating scouting in our community. Following mass, please join us for fellowship and donuts in the undercroft, all are welcome! If you interested in joining scouts or volunteering this would a great opportunity to talk with other Scouts and Leaders. All current scouts please wear your class A uniform!
Music Ministry Catholic Schools Mass Sunday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m.
St. John's school kids are busy preparing for this wonderful celebration. On Sunday morning, we will meet at 9:30 a.m. to rehearse. Wouldn't it be great to have a choir of 40 school kids? Students are rehearsing the music during their music class time. We will have two additional rehearsals in the music room in the undercroft: Wednesday, 11/22 at 5 p.m. and Thursday, 11/23 at 3 p.m. The sixth grade class chose some exciting music for the Mass. Come and be a part of it!
Children's Choir Come and join the children's choir! Grades 3-8. We will be singing on the first Sunday of the month for the 10:30 a.m. Mass and presenting 2 choir concerts this year. (Date and time TBA) The choir curriculum is based on the Royal School of Church Music Curriculum. Students will be earning certificates for levels of knowledge in reading music and learning to sing. Their program is called Voice for Life. Parents are welcome to attend a choir rehearsal or contact Denise to hear more about this exciting program! Important FACTS after school billing information!! FACTS has made a change to the system that is effective this month. All families who paid their tuition in full, yet still use after school, will now have to pay the $45 FACTS registration fee. You will see this $45 fee from FACTS on your next after school payment. Welcome Mrs. Church New to our SJS staff this semester is Mrs. Maria Church, who has assumed the Spanish teaching duties for our K-8 grade classes. Mrs. Church has lived in Georgetown since 2005 with her husband, Perry, and their two sons Nathan (21) and Matthew (18) and are parishioners of St. John’s Catholic Church. Maria is a graduate of EKU and a U.S. Navy veteran and is eager to bring her native-Spanish speaking skills to help enrich the education and cultural experiences of our students. Attention SJS Alumni and Current or Former Students of Ms. King SS. Francis & John Parish and St. John School will be celebrating Ms. Lucy King's thirty years of teaching at St. John School. Ms. King has impacted many lives in our community. We are asking former students and parents to email your memories or simply a thank you to Ms. King for us to compile for her. You can email them to [email protected] or mail to 106 Military St. Georgetown, KY 40324. The celebration will occur at the 2nd annual Heart to Heart Dinner Dance on February 8th. After School STREAM Club There will be no after school STREAM club until February. Please watch the notes for more information.
Box Tops For Education
Box Tops is changing to fit today's families. The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to your school's earnings online.
Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.

If you drink coke you can help our school raise money! All you need to do is enter the codes, found under the lid or on the box, at www.coke.com. The easiest way to locate our school is to search ST JOHN, 40324 in the search box. You can also turn your lids and box codes into the school office. If you would like to help enter codes, please email the office at [email protected].
