Notes From the Office: January 25, 2021

Greetings,

Welcome to a very soggy start of the week! Just a reminder that enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year begins February 1-5 for current families.  Last year, some of the classes had waiting list. If you plan to attend St. John School next year it is important that you submit your registration during this time period.

Next week, St. John will be celebrating Catholic Schools week. We will be having some fun activities for the students.  Although we are always looking to improve, we are very pleased with our academics and discipline.  St. John School also realizes that home is where it all starts. In our world today, it is so important to remind students that we are all children of God.  We need our students to understand that all children have special gifts and even though they may be different, they all need to be respected!  Thank you for all your help, support, and kind words.

Registration for the 2021-2022 School year

Registration letters will go home on Friday, January 29th with instructions on how to register for the 2021-2022 school year.  You will have until February 5th to secure your spot for the upcoming school year.  Registration opens to parishioners on February 7th and to the community on February 17th.  Please remember to send in your $100 per child registration fee to secure your students spot.

Online Fundraiser

All students will be bringing home information about our SchoolStore fundraiser (click here for more information).  Participating is easy and your student will receive a Wild Republic Hugger Mystery Prize if you sign up and return your form with your students prize code.

Catholic Schools Week begins Sunday, January 31st.

Click here for a list of all the fun days we have planned for the students.  We are conducting a school wide service project for Catholic Schools week.  Please bring in nonperishable food items that we will donate to the Amen house.  Lets show Scott County that we are a small but mighty school!

Trump Administration Extends Free Meals for Kids for Entire School Year!!!

“The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11)

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Good Shepherd to bring CHRIST IN MY HOME Ministry to SSFJ!  Each week, a short video (no more than 10 minutes!) will be sent via email and posted on our SSFJ website. The videos will help you prepare for the following week's Gospel along with practical ideas for building your "domestic church".   It is our hope that you will set aside a time  to view the video as a family and invite Christ in to your everyday living!

Videos and discussion questions will be emailed out on Sunday afternoons and posted on the SSFJ Facebook Page & the SSFJ Website.
