St. John School Newsletter
January 31, 2022
St. John Families:
Well, Catholic Schools Week is here! We had a great start to the week yesterday with a successful open house for prospective families. Each day this week we have a combination of fun and faith-filled activities planned for the students.
As a reminder, Mass is an all-schools virtual event with the Bishop tomorrow, but tomorrow is Mass Day which means Mass uniforms are needed for the students. However, the Kindergarten and the 1st Grade have permission to celebrate their Hundred Days which means they do not need to be in their Mass uniforms (Ms. Graves and Ms. King have sent details to their class about how they mark that fun milestone).
As current families, you should have received my letter this past Friday about the tuition rate freeze for the upcoming year. This Friday, you should be getting your enrollment packets for the 2022-2023 year with all the details necessary to re-enroll. Remember that as a current family, you do get a one-week head start on enrolling before we open to the parish at large. Please be quick in getting your registration completed, your registration fee submitted, updating your existing Sycamore account, and your FACTS account.
Lastly, it would not be an update from me if I didn’t mention Covid. We have had more cases since the start of the new semester than we did in the first semester. This was to be expected based on the transmissibility data for the omicron variant of the virus. Please be diligent in keeping sick students at home. With the weather adding to the complications of Covid, our staff are doing what they can to keep absent students up to date on assignments and connected to the classroom.
Peace to you all,
Mr. Mayer

School breakfast and lunch will be free for all students for the 2021-22 school year. This takes the burden off of families while they continue to recover from the pandemic. We still need our families to apply for free/reduced lunches if applicable, click here. These applications affect receipt of the P-EBT cards the government has been sending out as well as grant money the school receives from the state.
