I hope you are staying cool during this heat wave. We are back at it in the office getting things ready for our next school year. Our staff will all be returning and books are ordered for next year. I am looking forward to a great year!
Part of our summer process involves cleaning up the campus grounds and getting the buildings ready for the students. We would appreciate anything you can do to help us. Please contact the office if you have some time to help. Weeding and cleanup around the church and school building is always needed.

After School Billing for 2018-2019 School Year For the upcoming school year all after school billing will be automatically deducted from your FACTS account unless you have made prior arrangements. Please contact the school office at [email protected] with any questions you may have.
Scholastic Book Fair Rewards A huge Thank You to everyone who shopped at the book fair this year. The school was able to get a lot of new items for the office and classrooms this year. With our scholastic rewards we received: 3 pencil sharpeners, an electric coin sorter, a rug, a bean bag chair, laminating pouches, bookmarks, stapler, saints store items, and over 50 books for classrooms.
Thank you to our many Kroger supporters! Our supporters (140 households) who shopped at Kroger between 3-1-2018 and 5-28-2018 (Cycle 4, Qtr 3) have contributed to our $1265.68 total donation. Keep shopping Kroger! If you are not a community rewards member, please sign up to support our parish and school.
NEW Summer Office Hours The school office will be closed on July 4th & 5th. Our NEW summer hours are 9-1 Monday through Thursday. The parish office is open Monday through Friday 9-2.
Orientation Dates Preschool and Pre-K families will have orientation on Monday, August 6th beginning at 6:30pm in the church. We would like for all families to join us for a short presentation in the church before visiting classrooms. Kindergarten through eighth grade families will have orientation on Tuesday, August 7th beginning at 6:30pm in the church. For all returning families - Orientation will be different this year than in years past. We would like to have a short presentation in the church before you visit your students classroom. We ask that all families are in the church and seated by 6:30 so we can begin the presentation. You will be given more information during the presentation with where to go next. We will not have picture day during orientation. We will schedule picture day during the school year.
It’s ordering time for yearbooks!! Order your 2017-2018 yearbook today and preserve all those great St. John memories for you and your child! You won’t want to miss it! You can order online at ybpay.lifetouch.com with ID code 1925018, or send a check or cash into the office along with the order form that was sent home in your child’s office folder. Only $25 if you order before June 1! Yearbooks will be distributed at orientation for the 2018-2019 school year. There will be yearbooks available to purchase at that time if you forget to preorder, but the price goes up to $28 after June 1, so save yourself some money and put in your order now!
Cross Country News
As the school year comes closer to its end, summer is quickly approaching. Summer means sun, fun, and of course ............ more chances to RUN!! The St. John cross country season will begin on Monday, July 30, at Scott County Park! For you returning runners, especially middle schoolers, it’s time to start thinking about getting some miles on our legs; it’s very important to come into this season in shape in order to get the most out of the season! For those of you who have not tried cross country, now is a great time to think about it and take that leap of faith! It is an extremely fun team and individual sport that is open to all St. John students from grades one through eight. All you need is a pair of running shoes and a great attitude!
