Greetings,

I am very excited about the 2019-2020 school year. As many of you already know, Erica Bilotta will be heading up the new “Academic Achievement Program - Providing a Pathway to Student Success.” This program will provide student support and enrichment at our school. We have several strong candidates that have submitted applications for the 3^rd grade position and we will start interviews this week. Lastly, we are also examining ways to make our discipline code and Peacebuilder program more effective. Thank you for all your help in making SJS a wonderful place for your children to grow academically and spiritually.

	Here's What's New!!


	Computer Lab Summer Hours The computer lab will be open for students to take AR tests the following hours. Please mark your calendars now and note the evening hours available for parents who work. The lab will also be open on Orientation. Tuesdays: 10-11:30 am - June 25, July 9, July 30 Thursdays: 5:30-7 pm - June 27, July 11, August 1

Shaheen's will also have a POP UP sale at Lexington Catholic on July 16th, 17th & 18th with times to be determined. They will have our uniforms in stock to purchase at this event.


	Cross Country News The weather is heating up. . . . more folks are out and about enjoying the nicer weather. . . and this can only mean that the St John Cross Country season is right around the corner!! The first official practice will be Monday, July 29th, at Brooking Park at our normal meeting spot by the big playground. Coach Mayer and I are looking forward to seeing back all of our returning runners and we are hoping to see a lot of new faces as well. Give it some thought. Cross country is a super team sport with a chance to always improve individually. As Coach Mayer always says. . . . if you like running, being outside, and having fun, this is the sport for you! Returning runners.. . . now is the time to start running and building up some miles on those legs. If you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to call or write. 	St. John School is currently looking for a part time After School Assistant with pay $12/hr for 1.5 -3 hrs. per day. This person must be able to work with students of varying ability levels in the visual arts. This is a full time position, with benefits, serving both the parish and the school. We are a vibrant, growing Catholic community with thriving English-speaking and Spanish-speaking communities. Candidates should have strong skills on piano and organ, enjoy working with children and adults, and be willing to lead and develop our existing choirs and musicians, including our children’s and Hispanic choirs. Position also includes teaching music classes in the parish school for Pre-K through 8th grade. Fluency in Spanish is not required.
