St. John Catholic School Notes From the Office: Monday, March 19th, 2018         Weekly Updates         March 2018         Greetings, I hope you had a chance to attend "Breakfast and Books". This was a fun time to visit with other parents, enjoy some food, and see what books your children are interested in reading. Thank you to everyone who worked to make this event a success. Next Saturday, we will need some help spreading mulch around the church and school starting at 9:00 am. This will be a great service opportunity for Lent. A special thanks to Jim McCarty for donating the mulch. This project should not take long if we get a few wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, and willing workers. The Guardian Angel Grants were created to honor donor requests to ensure that young men and women with this level of demonstrated need have an opportunity to enjoy the Lexington Catholic educational experience. Saturday, April 28th SCHOOL HOUSE CHAMPIONS 5K SJS is now a participating member of the 5K!  Please send in your registrations or ask how you can help.  A portion of proceeds from the run will go back to our school for books and technology updates!  Click here for more information and a registration sheet.  https://schoolhousechampions5k.com/ Monday, May 7th - Friday, May 11th.  Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week - more information to come.         Art News March Art Clubs Tuesday arts and crafts club for K-3rd grade is full for March.  If you are interested for April please contact Miss Barb at [email protected] Thursday Drawing class-  This is a class for those who want to work on their skill through working on specific drawings to suit their individual needs. Class is $50 for the month. SHOES....Do you have an old pair of shoes that have interesting sole markings and want to get rid of them?  We are doing a printmaking class that could use them!  Contact Miss Barb if you have shoes to contribute! Art Show Prep! On most Friday morning we are preparing for the art show from 9 am-10 am.  If you have an hour to help us mat, frame and do other things please come by!
