St. John Catholic School Notes From the Office: Monday, March 20th, 2017         Weekly Updates         March 2017         Greetings, Welcome to the the first day of spring! Hopefully, warmer days will soon be upon us. Thank you to the parents who helped make the "Breakfast and Books" and the book fair very successful. Many of our families enjoyed the good food and company while purchasing some great books. I would also like to thank all those who helped with classroom projects or bid on projects for our auction. Over $2000 was raised to help purchase new math books for next year. Please remind your children to keep turning in quality work. This time of year is critical to getting them prepared as they move on to the next grade level.   God bless and work hard, Dan Mardell           Here's What's New!!         For a $1 donation, students may have a dress down day on Thursday, March 23rd.  The money raised from this dress down day will help offset the cost of field day.         Registration is open to the public. Please help spread the good news about our school.  Click here to view the registration procedures or visit the school website at www.stjohnschoolonline.org         Please help the 5th grade class with their service project by donating the following items to ship to deployed soldiers: Almonds, Dried Fruit, "Healthy snacks", Mingo Beef Jerky, Grippo Chips, Tissues, Hawaiian Punch Powder Mix, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Snack-sized candy, Peanut Butter Crackers, Cheese Crackers, or Toiletries We will put together packages on March 30th.  If you would rather make a cash donation, please send in cash or check made payable to St. John School marked 5th grade and we will buy the supplies. Thanks for making this happen!         VOICE QUESTION OF THE WEEK What is the average class size at St. John School? The average class size is 15 students per class. There is a cap size of 22 students for kindergarten through eighth grade classes. Our preschool follows state regulations which allow 12 students for our 3 year old program and 14 students for the 4 year old program.         Did you know we recycle batteries?  Please send in all your used batteries to the school office and we will safely dispose of them for you.         St. John's Annual Art Show  Thursday May 11, 2017 3:00pm-7:30pm         Click here to download the lunch menu for March.         Computer Lab Hours The computer lab will be open from 3 - 3:30 on Mondays for students who would like to take AR tests or practice typing.         Submissions for Notes From the Office If you would like a St. John School or parish event included in the Notes From the Office, or you have pictures you would like to appear in the Notes, please send your submissions to [email protected] no later than Mondays at 9am.
