Principal's Corner
Greetings,
St. John School continues to be a busy place. Besides the students and teachers working hard in the classrooms, we had our traditional health fair and "Battle of the Rock." I would like to thank Mrs. Berry for organizing this year's health fair with the help of Mrs. Blankenship, Mrs. Comer, Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Hernandez and college/community volunteers. They checked hearing, vision, blood pressure, height, weight, spine, and scalp. It was fun for the students to see how much they grew from the previous year. Also, Mrs. Andres did a great job organizing the "Battle of the Rock." The students always look forward to this event. It was great to see our students and parents demonstrating their tremendous pride and spirit for our school. The only downside of this event is that after running up and down the court a few times, I soon realized that I am definitely one year older and slower!
Lastly, the basketball teams finished their regular season Saturday. I would like to thank our athletic director and coaches for all their help. The teams worked hard and had successful seasons. One principal from another school was very complimentary of our parents. He said he was impressed with the size, support, and spirit of our fans.
Our virtue of the month of for March is Mercy. Please ask your child about this virtue.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell
