Greetings,

Welcome to May!! It is hard to believe we are in the last month of school. As an educator, it is so good to hear about the success of our students and alumni. They are doing great things in academics, sports, the performing arts, and in various clubs. After attending First Holy Communion services the last two weeks, the real importance of our school came to mind – our job is to help raise saints! Academics and discipline are very important to our school. However, what makes St. John School special is our Catholic education. Our school is able to offer religion as a core class at every grade level, and students are able to attend Mass every Tuesday and Adoration on Thursday. Service to each other, our parish, and the community is valued.

A special thanks to all the volunteers from the school and parish who help St. John School. Please come and join us on Tuesday, May 2^nd, for a special Mass with Bishop John and the students of St. John School. Your gift of service and heart is truly appreciated.

	Here's What's New!!


	The last day of school will be Thursday, May 25th, with early dismissal at 11:15. Kindergarten graduation will be Wednesday, May 24th. Eighth grade graduation will be Tuesday, May 23rd at 6 PM.


	Registration Consent forms are due! Please turn in your 2017-18 consent paperwork as soon as possible. Also, the $200 annual fee is due by June 1st. Please contact the office if you have any questions about your registration.


	Art Show Refreshments Needed! If you are able to contribute to our refreshments for the art show please contact Miss Barb at [email protected] to let her know what you can bring. Looking for cookies, brownies, sweet tea/ice tea. Thank you!


	Congratulations to our Speech Contest and Debate winners!


	Now's the time to order you 2016-17 yearbook if you have not done so already. The price until May 26th will be $25 each. After May 26th, the price will increase to $28. You can order online at YBPay.lifetouch.com and use Yearbook ID Code: 1925017

	A Middle School Dance is coming to SJS! Led by a determined group of 6th graders, we have decided to host a SJS 5th - 8th grade dance in the Cardome Chapel, May 12th, 7-9pm. Click here for more information about the dance. All current SJS students and any past "alumni" currently in those grades are invited. This is a test run so we can see about doing a fall dance as a fundraiser for the Washington DC trip. More information will be available soon. Any parents interested in being a chaperone, please contact Kim Jansen or Lisa Case.

What does St. John School do for advanced students?

	Computer Lab Hours The computer lab will be open from 3 - 3:30 on Mondays for students who would like to take AR tests or practice typing.
