St. John Catholic SchoolNotes From the Office: Tuesday, November 19th, 2019Weekly UpdatesNovember 2019Greetings,Our students did an excellent job leading the 10:30 Mass on Sunday. The students were articulate and very well mannered. It was also great to see so many of our students, alumni, and parents in attendance. As Pope Francis said, “Only by changing education can we change the world.” He explained that if Catholic education is to be fulfilling, it must value its Christian identity, provide quality academics, and teach responsibility for the greater good of all humanity. Our school does an excellent job promoting this idea. Remember, St. John School is a place where students grow academically and spiritually.
Don’t forget that next Tuesday, November 26 th, all students K-8 will be dropped off and picked up at Cardome. We will be having our middle school science fair and STREAM Day activities. There will be no after school care that day. Pick up is at 2:50 pm. Stay tuned for more details. This should be a great day of learning.
** The preschool will stay in their regular classroom on Tuesday, November 26. They all need to bring a lunch that day. Also, there will be no early drop off or after school care that Tuesday.**God bless and take care,Dan Mardell
Here's What's New!!
All students in grades K-8 will be dropped off at Cardome on this day. There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL. All students MUST be picked up at Cardome at 2:50PM. Preschool students will still be dropped off and picked up at St. John School. There will be NO EARLY DROP OFF or AFTER SCHOOL for preschool students on this date.
Hope Was Born This NightSt. John School music program will present a Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. This concert will feature all of the students of St. John-preschool through 8th grade.The concert will feature singing, playing instruments, movement and readings.Come and join us!7:00 p.m. will be Preschool through 3rd grade. Their part of the program will end at 7:20 p.m.7:30 p.m. will be Fourth grade through eighth grade. Their part of the program will end at 8:00 p.m.Christmas Concert for St. John School1) Does your child take private lessons? Hello SJS! It's that time of year again!
Georgetown's Home for the Holidays parade is Dec. 7th! This year’s theme is Singing in the Season! SJS float will be decorated all in white, gold and silver. We are asking everyone to wear light colored clothing or angel costumes if you already have one (not required). The float will feature a nativity scene and we will be singing "Silent Night". Cookies and Cocoa afterwards!
