Please take note of the detailed information below:
Thanksgiving Mass and Reception (hosted by SIA) tomorrow. Mass starts at 8:30 am. Please park in the Main Lot for Cardome (Lot A) down by the South Entrance (which is where you normally exit) or in the 30 or so spots in Lot B and walk up to the main Cardome building with the Chapel. If you have someone that is mobility impaired, you may park in the limited spots in the Preschool Dropoff lot so that they can walk up the back ramp to the Main Cardome Building.
Seating will be packed. We are expecting over 300 people, so please fill every seat and help us direct people to open spaces. Those with preschoolers may best be served during Mass to sit in the side section (since those seats are closest to the restrooms).
Before leaving the reception with your student(s) it is imperative that you sign them out. There will be sign out sheets at both reception sites (Chapel and Cafeteria). If students have their backpacks or other items to bring home, they will bring them over to the first floor of Cardome to store during Mass. This will allow you to leave directly from that side of campus and not need to return to the School Building.
For those students staying after the reception, they will return back to the School Building or Kindergarten/Preschool Building after the reception. Gates open at 11:00 and dismissal is at 11:15 and follows the normal process and pickup location.
For those students staying after 11:15, they will have a free lunch provided. If they are not fans of cheese pizza, please arrange for them to bring a lunch to school. We will also offer an afternoon snack (again, please consider packing them a snack if they like something specific). All students staying with us for this special afterschool session may be picked from the Preschool Parking lot. Weather permitting, we may also be on one or both playground(s) as well.
iGiveCatholic Day is Tuesday, November 28th. Our funding target this year is $8000 in donations to support our intervention services program. There is a flyer in the Office Folder with additional details about the program and its successes. The link to give (which you can do early) is https://lexington.igivecatholic.org/organizations/ss-francis-john
Helping others this Holiday Season. This year we would like to help your families to give to what is closest to your hearts. We were approached by several different groups and have put together a combined program so that we help others in need. We have again partnered with the secular Franciscans in our parish. A flyer with details for the Christmas Hampers program to support the homeless is in the Office Folder. Donations to this program are listed on the back of the flyer as well as a link to a sign up sheet for items. In addition, the school will be supporting the Toys for Tots program again this year along with Ss. Francis and John Parish. A collection box will be located on campus for the donations. Lastly, our Beta Club is collecting baby items to support the Not Alone Pregnancy Center. A list of those items will come out next week. We hope that one of these worthy causes is close to your heart and something that you and your children would like to support this holiday season.
Lastly, the winter MAP testing starts on the Monday we return from Thanksgiving break. Yes, it is earlier than years past.
Home for the Holidays Parade "Christmas In Candyland" Downtown Georgetown | Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6pm I’d like to gauge the interest and get a rough headcount of kids who would want to participate, and ride on a “float” to represent the school. The plan is to just wear our spirit wear sweatshirts, SIA will get the kids some light up necklaces and they can ride on a trailer with a school banner. If you’d like to bring candy to throw that would be fine too. Thanks, SIA. Please email Caitlin Tudor if you would like to participate at [email protected].
2022-2023 Yearbooks
Did you forget to order your yearbook last year? That's no problem. We have about 15 extras that are for sale. They will be on a first come first serve basis. Please email the office at [email protected] if you would like to purchase one.
Snacks and Drinks
Just a reminder that all students should bring a snack and drink from home everyday. All classes have a snack time for students.
