Greetings,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Our holidays were definitely different and much quieter with the pandemic. This is the first week of Advent. The first candle on the Advent Wreath symbolizes hope. It represents the expectation felt of the coming Messiah. Hope is also something we need right now with the pandemic. We hope and pray for a cure for the Covid 19 virus. We also pray for everyone affected by the virus, our front line medical workers, and our country. I know we are all hoping and praying that our school gets back to in person learning soon!
Remember tomorrow, December 1, is a National Day of Giving. Please consider giving to the St. John School # iGiveCatholic campaign. Due to our limited ability to fundraise during the pandemic, this campaign is very important to the school. Please read the article below, pass it on the friends, and help support our school. Donations can be given online or dropped of at the school office. Thank you for your support!
The superintendent will be meeting with Bishop John on Thursday to determine whether we will be in person or virtual next week. Please be patient as they are doing all they can to get us back to in person. In the meantime, our teachers will continue to work hard so the students will get a great virtual learning experience.
Please follow the the Covid guidelines: mask, wash your hands, and socially distance.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell Principal

“The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11)
We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Good Shepherd to bring CHRIST IN MY HOME Ministry to SSFJ! Each week, a short video (no more than 10 minutes!) will be sent via email and posted on our SSFJ website. The videos will help you prepare for the following week's Gospel along with practical ideas for building your "domestic church". It is our hope that you will set aside a time to view the video as a family and invite Christ in to your everyday living!
Videos and discussion questions will be emailed out on Sunday afternoons and posted on the SSFJ Facebook Page & the SSFJ Website. School Year Calendar Click here to view the full school year calendar. This calendar is subject to change due to COVID.
After School You can contact the after school program by emailing [email protected] or by calling 502-642-0692. Please only call if you will be late picking up your child from after school.
Important Dates: November 30- December 4th: Virtual Learning |
