Greetings, As we enter the holiday seasons there are many distractions. It is important that the students are on time, focused, and ready to learn. Your help in this matter is appreciated. There are many exciting things going on with the school and church as we move forward. Please keep the church and school in your prayers. Congratulations to the Lexington Catholic boy's cross country team for winning state. Several St. John alum are on that team.

November and December Teachers Day Off
Several years ago we changed what the school did to celebrate Christmas for the teachers. They voted to have a paid day off instead of a large Christmas brunch. Therefore, every year we let them choose a day off and the parents provide a substitute teacher for that day. Spending a day volunteering as a teacher is an exciting way to see what goes on at our school, a good way to get to know the SJS kids, and a way of saying “thank you, we appreciate you and Merry Christmas” to our teachers. Your Homeroom mom should have contacted you by now with your teachers chosen day off. It’s fine to split the day up or have one person cover the entire day. We also need help covering the days off for the Specials teachers. If you are available and willing to help out, please see the list below for the days we still need volunteers for (some teachers have not yet given us dates). You don’t need to have a student in the class you substitute for. Please contact Emily Walters (859) 619-2097 or Jennifer Hernandez (817) 637-4384 if you can help. Thank you in advance for helping make this a success!

Christmas Parade December 2 at 6:00 pm
Save the Date and make plans to join us for Georgetown’s 2017 Home for the Holidays Christmas Parade. This year’s theme is “Light up the Season”. We will certainly do just that by having a Christmas tree float with students as the ornaments, singing the Music Christmas Play songs. Parents are welcomed and needed to walk along the sides of the float – dressed as ornaments if you wish. Think you can make it? Please RSVP so we know how many trailers we will need. Want to help out with the float? Please contact Ginny Squires at (502) 316-4182.

St. John School Christmas Play!! Mark your calendars now! Sunday, December 17th, at 3pm in the Cardome Chapel.
It's just before Christmas and the tree ornaments have been awakened from their yearly hibernation by the movement of their storage box. It's time! As they begin to prepare for another season on the Christmas tree, they are greeted by a rather strange and "un-Christmassy" ornament: A Hula-Girl. The Star, Snowman, the Angel and others don't understand what she has to do with Christmas and give her a rather cool reception until another significant figure from the mantelpiece shows up to explain to all of them what Christmas is about and how they each have significance in God's amazing plan of redemption through His Son, Jesus.
A humorous and engaging story with delightful songs and a solid salvation message that will teach children what Jesus' coming was all about and remind kids and congregation alike that Christmas is truly a time to celebrate!
