Principal's Corner
Greetings,
I trust everyone enjoyed the long weekend and is rested. The St. John School Recycling Team recently donated two benches, made of recycled material, to be used at the SS. Francis & John cemetery. These benches were much needed and greatly appreciated. Thank you to Teri Ward for getting the benches and to everyone that helps with our community. Secondly, I would like to thank everyone for helping with our shoe drive. We collected over 300 pairs of shoes for the homeless of Scott and Fayette Counties. The kindergarten class won the pizza party by collecting the most shoes. Lastly, please plan on attending the VOICE meeting sponsored by the school board. This is a great opportunity to help us identify the positive things and areas that you would like to see improved.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell
PS- Congratulations to our cross country team for another great effort! They finished second in the Woodford meet against some tough competition. Many runners continue to improve their times each meet. In short, they just keep bringing home the hardware (trophies)!!! Soccer play-offs are this weekend. All the teams have had a good season and represented St. John School in a great way!
Here's What's New:
Parent Surveys
You should have received a parent survey from your youngest student last week. Please return them as soon as possible. We need these back for our accreditation process.
Barn Dance
We will host our annual school barn dance on Sunday, October 25th, from 2-4pm. It is a afternoon of fun for the whole family. Be on the lookout for more information.
VOICE
November 2
nd 2015. Mark your calendars and plan to attend our first "ParentVoice" meeting. We will begin in the church at 6pm with a brief "State of the School" update, then break into small groups where parents will be given the chance to discuss the strengths of our school as well as its opportunities for improvement. What makes you a St. John advocate?Where do you see opportunities to improve? Our School Board needs your input to help build a plan for the future of St. John School which will help all of our children excel.
Chick fil-A week
Don't forget to each at Chick fil-A this week. A portion of all sales with the flyer sent home last week will be given back to the school.

Cross Country News
"With the season rapidly coming to a close, the St John runners are continuing to peak at the right time. PERSONAL BESTS were set by Maddie Blankenship, Nicholas Coleman, Grace Hommrich, Kylie Hargrave, Erin Luckett, Raeburn Taylor, Ben Mayer, Mark Reinhart, Charlie Berry, Lillian Fritsch, Gianna Neaves, Alex Mayer, Preston Luckett, David Reinhart, and Dominic Bilotta at either the 2K, 3K, or 4K distance. Aiden Lopez and Seth Perry were right at their personal bests with their great efforts. Top 20 finishes were obtained by Erin Luckett (4th), Dominic Bilotta (6th), David Reinhart (7th), and John Reinhart (11th). The 4th-6th grade boys (consisting of Max Berry, Hadyn Humphrey, Evan Lopez, Dominic, David, John, Alex, and Preston), continued their winning ways, getting 2nd place out of 16 teams in a very competitive field!!!
The season ends with the State Meet, the Meet of Champions, at Masterson Station Park this coming Saturday! If you have never been to a cross country meet, this is as BIG as they get and very fun to watch -- come out and cheer on your Saints!! Races start at 10:15 for the 4th grade and under kids and end at 3PM
with the middle school runners. GOOOOOO SAINTS!! "
