School has been a bit quieter with the seventh and eighth graders gone to Washington DC. Our prayers are with them for a safe journey home. Good luck to Gavin Moore and River Clark as they will be representing St. John School at the diocesan spelling bee Tuesday morning. Congratulations to John Reinhart for finishing second at the state cross country meet in the sixth grade and to Dominic Bilotta for finishing eleventh in his division. They both did a phenomenal job considering the tough competition. Lastly, please remember parent conferences on Friday. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with their teacher.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell

Cross Country News The CC season has come to an end -- very successful! Here is a little tidbit about it:
Your mighty St John CC runners finished their season at the massive Meet of Champions at Masterson Station Park this past Saturday. The beautiful, unseasonably warm weather we have had most of the season was once again present on Saturday! All of runners ran masterfully and finished the season with the same grit and determination that they have shown all year long. Congrats to our 8th graders who have led this team over the years and become mentors for the younger runners due to their great work ethic and kind personalities! Although the D.C. trip kept 3 of the four from running this final race, we were able to reward them at the Spaghetti Dinner before they got on the bus for their trip on Thursday night. David Reinhart got the Leadership Award, Kristin Drummond the Coach's Award, Alex Mayer the Guts and Determination Award, and Dominic Bilotta the MVP Award. They will be greatly missed! Dominic ended his season with an incredible 11th place finish in the Middle School Championships! John Reinhart had an awesome race as well and finished RUNNER UP in the state in the 6th grade and under championship! Make sure you congratulate all of the runners this week when you see them! The 11th season of St John CC will be back in July of next year -- consider giving it a try and join something fun and challenging and good for you!!
St. John School Christmas Play!! Mark your calendars now! Sunday, December 17th, at 3pm in the Cardome Chapel.
It's just before Christmas and the tree ornaments have been awakened from their yearly hibernation by the movement of their storage box. It's time! As they begin to prepare for another season on the Christmas tree, they are greeted by a rather strange and "un-Christmassy" ornament: A Hula-Girl. The Star, Snowman, the Angel and others don't understand what she has to do with Christmas and give her a rather cool reception until another significant figure from the mantelpiece shows up to explain to all of them what Christmas is about and how they each have significance in God's amazing plan of redemption through His Son, Jesus.
A humorous and engaging story with delightful songs and a solid salvation message that will teach children what Jesus' coming was all about and remind kids and congregation alike that Christmas is truly a time to celebrate!
