St. John Families:

Please pay close attention to the information contained below:

After conferring with our Pastor and the Superintendent, I would like to try something different for our Thanksgiving Week schedule.  If it goes well this year, I would like to make it part of our St. John School Thanksgiving culture/tradition in the years to come. So here goes. 

Tuesday, Nov 21st , will be changed to a modified half day schedule to accommodate the following activities

All families are invited to join us for Mass at 8:30 that morning.  Please use the RSVP attendance sheet to let us know your family’s plans for our Mass/Reception and your plans for pickup for your student(s).  This sheet must be returned by Friday, November 10th.

Immediately following Mass, the Saints in Action will be hosting a reception with treats for the entire school community in attendance that day.  Those parents/guardians that attend the Mass/Reception may choose to check their children out after the reception and leave for break (we will have sign out sheets for you to use).  All other students will be taken by the teachers back to their classrooms after the reception for the remainder of the school day.

We will dismiss school at 11:15 using the standard early dismissal process (gates will open at 11:00).  Preschoolers are especially encouraged to leave at the 11:15 dismissal or earlier.

For those families unable to attend Mass/Reception or arrange for early dismissal (including preschool), we will be hosting an Afterschool session from 11:15 – 4:00 with age-appropriate activities planned.  Families requiring students to stay beyond 4:00 will be able to do so until 6:00 for a fee, but must notify us that the student will need to stay as such on the RSVP attendance form.  All students that stay after 11:15 will be provided lunch or may bring lunch from home.  We will not be using the Diocese Food Service Program that day for lunch.  Students will be signed in and out just like normal afterschool.

The second item of importance is that we are looking to help the Diocese staff the food service program for St. John School.  We are in need of a Food Service Manager and a Food Service Assistant to prepare and serve meals at St. John School.

Lastly, I am pleased to announce that we have added Mrs. Jillian Gerardo to our intervention services staff.  Mrs. Gerardo comes to us with several years of classroom experience in a Catholic school in New York.  She has taught subjects from language arts to science and ages from preschool to 8th grade.  Mrs. Bilotta and I are very excited to have Mrs. Gerardo join our staff.  She spent last week visiting the teachers, meeting a few students, and working with Mrs. Bilotta on scheduling.  Be sure to say “Hi” to her when you see her around.

Uniform Reminder

Shorts are only permitted during
the months of Aug, Sept,
Oct, Apr, May & June.

Holy Day Mass

All students and staff will attend the Holy Day Mass on Wednesday, November 1st at 8:30AM.  Student do not have to wear their Mass uniform on Wednesday.

Congratulations to our elementary soccer teams on a great season!

All proceeds from this frundraiser go to support the St. John Athletics Programs.

2022-2023 Yearbooks

Did you forget to order your yearbook last year?  That's no problem.  We have about 15 extras that are for sale.  They will be on a first come first serve basis.  Please email the office at [email protected] if you would like to purchase one.

Snacks and Drinks

Just a reminder that all students should bring a snack and drink from home everyday.  All classes have a snack time for students.
