Welcome to midterm week….yes, I said that correctly! It is midterm for our first quarter of the year. With that, we will be sending home midterm grades on Thursday. A couple of important reminders about midterm grades:
1) It is a snapshot in time, not an official standalone grade;
2) If you see a midterm grade that is lower than expected, it is likely because there are missing assignments. Be sure to check with your student and check in Sycamore to see what the real story is.
3) It is a great way to get a barometer reading for your student(s) start to the year and spark conversations at home on what are doing well and where do we need to grow.
4) Since everyone has new teachers (to them), there are always new expectations and new rules to go with the new subject material.
Grandparents Day is being celebrated tomorrow. Please see the flyer below and know that as always, you are invited to join us for our school Mass on Tuesdays at 8:30 in the big Cardome Chapel.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO GET THOSE RAFFLE TICKETS SOLD to support us with the Fall Fest fundraising. I think that we are anticipating a large crowd to attend this year and getting those raffle tickets sold to people gives them another reason to come see what we are about! Thanks for helping us with the biggest fundraising event for the school and parish.
Lastly, we are looking to hire a few additional Afterschool teachers/assistants for our program. The ad will be posted soon, but if you or someone you know is looking for some part-time hours afterschool, please reach out to me or the school office for details.
Peace,
Mr. Mayer
