I hope that you had a relaxing and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. This week is the start of a more regular schedule for our K-8 grades as the Circle of Grace classes have now ended and we begin music classes. MAP testing has ended for the majority of students, so MAP testing this week is limited and will conclude this Friday.
This week also begins our monthly Adoration cycle. Because there is weekly Adoration on Thursdays at St. John Church, the school on the Main Street campus was always able to visit on Thursday during the school day. Last spring saw St. John School attend an Adoration in the Cardome Chapel on a Tuesday after Mass. Based on this success, the plan for this year is that once a month on Tuesdays we will hold a few hours of Adoration in the Chapel for the students to attend. For those unfamiliar with this Catholic practice, Adoration is simply defined as a quiet time spent in prayer before Jesus present in the Eucharist. Today’s Adoration will be from noon until approximately 2:15 PM.
Lastly, Saints in Action (SIA) has been working hard to line up school volunteers. The minutes from their first meeting last month can be found by clicking here. Also, SIA is organizing the Trunk or Treat which is scheduled to be held the afternoon of the Fall Fest on October 29, 2022. A SignUpGenius link is below to make it easy for you to volunteer for the event (see the flyer below for more details).
We are now hiring a part time cafeteria assistant. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please contact Char Banta at [email protected]
