I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I would like to thank our middle school for all their help during Holy Week. They did an excellent job performing the Passion Play on Good Friday for our students and parish. If you have not had a chance to see the play, it should be a must for you next year. Also, they helped the parish Arts and Environment committee in preparing for Holy Week. As a service project, they made Easter cards that were delivered to parishioners who are at local nursing homes or are shut-ins. Lastly, they helped move chairs out to Cardome for the Sunday Mass (however the Mass was rained out). Great job middle school students! These are just a few examples of the wonderful ways all our students provide works of service for our church and community.
Good luck to our robotics team as they compete in the World Competition next week!
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell

How does St. John School compare to other schools on technology education?
The students in Kindergarten through 8th grade attend a 45 minute technology class once a week in our technology lab. The lessons for this class are drawn from state technology standards. Over the last two years we purchased 45 Chromebooks that are mainly used in grades 5 - 8. Students integrate the Chromebooks for research, papers, projects, and presentations (slideshows) in all subjects. We also use Google Docs and Google Classroom. With the help of very knowledgeable parents in the software / hardware fields, a recently hired IT technology support person, and an experienced technology lab classroom teacher we provide a strong technology program. As always, I think you are constantly looking at ways to improve as technology changes. One area that I would like to get teachers more training is in the use of the interactive Smartboard. Overall, our program does a good job educating our students in the area of technology.
Registration is open to the public. Please help spread the good news about our school. Click here to view the registration procedures or visit the school website at www.stjohnschoolonline.org
