St. John Families:

Welcome back from Spring Break!  I hope that you were able to spend time reflecting on the blessings of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection on Easter!  And that you had some nice time as a family with your kiddos.  We are ready to put them back on the learning train and make progress through the end of the school year.

Since the announcement on Tuesday, March 12th of the $100,000 Matching Grant Program (flyer attached down below), the school has now raised $14,300 towards the goal!  Great job!  For those that have not donated yet, remember that giving a donation now doubles the value of the gift because of the matching fund.  No gift is too small to help!  The Parish Life Center will house a large meeting space capable of holding 500+ people that will serve the school as a gym, as an assembly hall, as an indoor recess area, and as an expanded seating area for the attached Chapel.  It fulfills a decades long vision to provide a gymnasium for our school so that our students benefit from daily indoor access as well as extracurricular sports and activities.

St. John School is still looking for a few more speech contest judges for next Tuesday 4/16/24.  If you or someone you know is able to come be a judge next Tuesday, please contact the office by email ([email protected]).  You will be judging students in one of the grades, 4th grade through 8th grade and you are provided with a score sheet to use.  Our goal is to partner at least two judges per grade.  You are welcome to attend Mass with us if you like.  The speeches will start after Mass in the classrooms of the main school building, so you should plan on being here that day from 9:30 until no later than 11:30.  This is our first attempt to return this St. John tradition that was knocked out during the pandemic and the following year, so come help us re-start on the right foot!

Volunteer Appreciation Day for all our awesome volunteers is on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.  Please join us that morning for Mass followed by a brief reception in the Chapel.  Details are below.

The cafeteria will be offering snacks to purchase on Fridays. This will include items such as chips, rice krispies, cookies, etc. Snacks are $1.50 each. Student must have a positive balance to purchase. Please contact the cafeteria at [email protected] with any questions.

Just a reminder that all students should bring a snack and drink from home everyday.  All classes have a snack time for students.
