St. John Catholic School Notes From the Office: Monday, August 19th, 2019         Weekly Updates         August 2019         Greetings,   I would like to thank everyone for your help in making this a great start to the 2019-2020 school year. I appreciate your effort in getting everyone here by 7:45 so they are in their seats and ready to go by 7:50. It is amazing what a difference it makes for both the teachers and students.   We have been working diligently to help develop a positive culture at our school. The teachers have been working on tattling vs telling. Also, we our working on the first two steps of the Peacebuilder program which are "I pledge to praise people" and "to give up put down". It would be wonderful if you would reinforce or talk about these at home. The students have been on task and doing a great job!   God bless and take care, Dan Mardell         Here's What's New!!         Cafeteria Volunteers Needed We are in need of volunteers for the cafeteria.  You must have safe environment training and a background check to volunteer in the cafeteria.  Volunteers are needed Monday - Friday from 10:30-1.  If you are willing or able to volunteer on any of those days, please contact the office at [email protected]     Save the Date for September 13th & 14th.  Click here for information on the festival raffle baskets.     We only 100 raffle tickets remaining.  Please contact the school office at [email protected] if you would like to purchase any tickets or are able to sell any.  You can also get tickets from Amy Comer in the pick-up line on Wednesday and Thursday.  Thank you for all your support with the festival.         DON'T FORGET YOUR 2018-2019 YEARBOOKS!! Yearbooks are now available! If you have already pre-purchased a yearbook, now is the time to pick them up! If you haven't, DON'T MISS OUT! Buy your very own copy full of memories caught on film for $25.00! Money can be sent in to the office, or Colette Mayer will have yearbooks available at afternoon pick-up from Monday August 19th through Friday the 23rd while supplies last!         PE tee shirts and Spirit Wear orders Due To keep costs low on these items we only place one order per school year.  Please make sure if you need a new tee shirt or sweatshirt that you turn your order forms in by Friday, 8/23.           Box Tops For Education Box Tops is changing to fit today's families. The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to your school's earnings online. Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online.         Click here to download the lunch menu for August - December 2019.         After School Email Address If you need to contact Janene Barry about after school please email [email protected] For the upcoming school year all after school billing will be automatically deducted from your FACTS account unless you have made prior arrangements.  Please contact the school office at [email protected] with any questions you may have.         If you drink coke you can help our school raise money!  All you need to do is enter the codes, found under the lid or on the box, at www.coke.com.  The easiest way to locate our school is to search ST JOHN, 40324 in the search box.  You can also turn your lids and box codes into the school office.  If you would like to help enter codes, please email the office at [email protected].         Submissions for Notes From the Office If you would like a St. John School or parish event included in the Notes From the Office, or you have pictures you would like to appear in the Notes, please send your submissions to [email protected] no later than Mondays at 9am.
