Notes From the Office: August 9th, 2021

Thanks to all for the great help in moving on Sunday.  The turnout was great, even in the heat!  We managed to get most of the items moved and into the new school building so that the teachers can finally get to work setting up their classrooms!  They are very excited about our opening and their great new spaces.  Thank you again!!

 

A reminder that the orientation is this Sunday (8/15/21) from 12:30 - 3:00.  You should have received several emails last week with various communications related to the opening of school.

 

In quick summary:

School opening was postponed to August 18, 2021.

Orientation Day is August 15, 2021 from 12:30 - 3:00.

There is a Diocesan-wide indoor mask requirement for students and staff from the first day of school until Labor Day (at which point there will be review of the health status of the school and community).

We needed and used tons of help and moved most of the school items out to our Cardome Campus this past Sunday.

 

If you did not receive any of these specific communications, please contact the school office so that we can get you a copy for your review.

All orders must be placed by the end of the school day, Friday, August 20th.  Checks should be made payable to St. John School and sent to the school office.  Make sure to order sweatshirts for the winter now.  We usually only place one order per school year.

Important Lunch Information for the 2021-2022 School year

School breakfast and lunch will be free for all students for the 2021-22 school year. This takes the burden off of families while they continue to recover from the pandemic.  We still need our families to apply for free/reducded lunches if applicable, click here.  These applications affect receipt of the P-EBT cards the government has been sending out as well as grant money the school recieves from the state.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Good Shepherd to bring CHRIST IN MY HOME Ministry to SSFJ!  Each week, a short video (no more than 10 minutes!) will be sent via email and posted on our SSFJ website. The videos will help you prepare for the following week's Gospel along with practical ideas for building your "domestic church".   It is our hope that you will set aside a time  to view the video as a family and invite Christ in to your everyday living!

 

Videos and discussion questions will be emailed out on Sunday afternoons and posted on the SSFJ Facebook Page & the SSFJ Website.
