Please notice below that the school office will be closed over the Christmas break.
As we prepare to close out our last week before Christmas break, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your continued support of St. John School and our staff. It seems like school is getting closer to “normal” as we close the first half of the year. The staff and I have worked diligently to support your children as best they need and remain committed to our mission of educating the whole student. Sometimes that means discipline, sometimes counseling, sometimes just having fun, but always teaching and monitoring that they are learning. As a Catholic school, we are called to not only be present in our students’ lives, but also be an example of what Jesus asks of us. We are reminded daily that your children are gifts from God and that we are blessed to be in their lives. Thank you for your commitment and trust in us.
Some awesome activities are going on this week around campus. Tonight is the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 6:30 PM at St. John Church. On Friday, December 16th, consider coming to celebrate Las Posadas at the Parish Hall at Cardome. More details can be found in the parish bulletin/website.
For those seeking the Sacrament of Reconciliation, you may enter St. John Church at 6:00 PM on any of the following nights: Tuesday 12/13, Thursday 12/15, or Friday 12/16.
Lastly, a reminder that dismissal for the last day (December 16th) will be at
11:15 AM. There is NO AFTERSCHOOL that day. Also, please be aware that BREAKFAST will be served that morning, but there will be NO LUNCH OFFERED to the students.
The gates will open at 11:00 AM and dismissal will be like any other school day with the exception that Preschool-only families (those with no older siblings) will get separate dismissal information from Mrs. Wayman with an earlier dismissal time. Preschoolers with older siblings at St. John will follow the normal dismissal process we follow every day (just at the earlier time).
Peace,
Mr. Mayer
Beta Club Recognition
To whom it may concern,
I would like to recognize the work and professionalism of the below listed students. The Georgetown Police Department put on a cops with socks event in which we hand out food, blankets and stockings to local kids at lemons mill elementary. Your students were professional and assisted in giving out blankets and stockings to these kids. I truly appreciate them and their efforts. I also appreciate that these students would do this in their spare time. They bring honor on themselves , St. John’s, and the Georgetown community.
Brenna M., Chloe S., Izzy D., Tucker G., Kieran G., Sam W., Alex W., Raeburn T., Tamryn W., Coen N., Ben M., & Mrs. Debbie Pendleton
P.S. One of our more enthusiastic officers had them sing ( more than once). They were great sports about it, although I am sure it was painful for them. For that alone they deserve recognition. Thank you and stay safe.
