St. John Families:

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens today for parishioner families that do not have students currently at St. John School.  I strongly urge you to fill out and get the registration fee in as quickly as possible to save your spot for the upcoming year!  The next Open House will be on Sunday, February 25, 2024.  Please spread the word to your friends, family, and neighbors!

Thanks to those that have been helping and donating for the Gala (to be held on March 16th).  Ticket sales are now open; don't wait get your tickets now!  See the flyer below on how to get your tickets today!!  If you can not attend, how about buying a techer a ticket so they can have a nice night out.  You or your company can also sponsor the event.  To pledge a sponsorship or see the sponsorship levels, please contact Jess Manning, Gala Chairperson at 502-554-0808 or [email protected].

Just like you we are keeping our eye on this strange weather forecast for tonight/tomorrow morning.  It may have to be a late call regarding what we do about school and we may not be able to make that call until 6:00 AM.  Obviously, if the bullseye falls right on top of us we will know sooner than that.  Because they are also talking about warm temperatures before and after the snowfall, a delay instead of a cancelation is also possible.

Wednesday, the school will participate in the parish’s 8:30 AM Ashes Service in the main Cardome Chapel.  This will not be a full Mass like Tuesday’s Masses, but you are more than welcome to attend with us.  The parish is also offering two evening ash services on Wednesday in the main Cardome Chapel as well- (Ashes service at 5:30 PM and Spanish Mass and Ashes at 7:00 PM).

Also, Stations of the Cross for the school will be each Friday of Lent in the main Cardome Chapel at 8:15 AM; starting this Friday, February 16th.  The Stations are led by the 4th and 5th grades and you are welcome to attend and follow along as we recognize and emphasize the sacrifice that Jesus made for each of us.  On Good Friday, March 29th, the Stations are replaced with our Passion Play.  There will be an exact start time sent later, but it will be held early in the morning of the school day and you are invited to attend (and a reminder that Good Friday is a half day, there is no Afterschool that day, and it marks the beginning of SJS Spring Break the following week).

It’s almost spring soccer time!

This season we will offer leagues for PK4 & Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade, and we will be bringing back our Little Kickers Clinic for 3-5 year olds.

Our practices will take place at Cardome during the week and our games will be played on Saturday mornings at Next Level Sports on Richmond Ave.

Practices will start the week of March 11th.

Just a reminder that all students should bring a snack and drink from home everyday.  All classes have a snack time for students.
