St. John Families:

Thanks for the help on the Open House this weekend.  We successfully registered a handful of new students and added new families to our SJS community!  The next Open House will be an evening one, planned for March 12th from 5 – 7 PM.

Thanks to those that have been helping and donating for the Gala (to be held on March 16th).  NOW is the time to get your tickets by using the QR code in the flyer below!  Getting your tickets now helps with the planning pieces of the event.

Congrats to our middle school boys basketball team for winning twice in the tournament this weekend!  That puts the team in the final four for our parochial league this upcoming weekend.  Tipoff time Saturday is an early one, 8:00 am at Lexington Catholic High School.  The girls team ended their season this weekend with a hard-fought battle on Saturday.  Congrats to them on a great season of learning and improving!

Stations of the Cross for the school are each Friday of Lent in the main Cardome Chapel at 8:15 AM.  The Stations are led by the 4th and 5th grades and you are welcome to attend and follow along as we recognize and emphasize the sacrifice that Jesus made for each of us.  On Good Friday, March 29th, the Stations are replaced with our Passion Play.  There will be an exact start time sent later, but it will be held early in the morning of the school day and you are invited to attend (and a reminder that Good Friday is a half day, there is no Afterschool that day, and it marks the beginning of SJS Spring Break the following week).

Also, please remember that our Knights of Columbus have a Fish Fry every Friday for the rest of Lent from 5:00-7:00 PM.  The school’s DC trip families (and friends) donate bake goods for sale at the Fish Fry.  If you love to bake, please bake something that can be cut into smaller pieces and drop it off at the office on Fridays or drop it off at the Fish Fry!  We take donations for the baked goods to fundraise for the trip!

We are in need of a soccer coach for our kindergarten soccer team.  If one can not be found we will not be able to have a kindergarten team.

Congratulations to the Knights of Columbus freethrow competition winners.  The winners will advance to the regional competition on March 3.

It’s almost spring soccer time!

This season we will offer leagues for PK4 & Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade, and we will be bringing back our Little Kickers Clinic for 3-5 year olds.

Our practices will take place at Cardome during the week and our games will be played on Saturday mornings at Next Level Sports on Richmond Ave.

Practices will start the week of March 11th.
