The snow and cold caused many of our Catholic Schools Week activities to be cancelled last week. However, the students enjoyed the activities that we were able to complete. They enjoyed lego projects, games, school wide bingo, and delicious sundaes with their favorite toppings.
Last week, while completing a grant for the school, there was a section that asked for a list of student and school achievements. After some research and thought, quite a list was compiled. Our students have many awesome achievements while attending St. John and many more as they continue their education in high school and college. When I reflect on this list, it is very apparent that we have an excellent school. I am very excited to work at a school with such fantastic students, staff, and parents!
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell

Silent Auction Item Sneak Peek!!
Would you like to own a piece of history? During the renovation of St. Francis in 2017, several pieces of broken stain glass were removed and replaced. Some of the broken pieces have been made into a stain glass work of art by local artist, Frank Connor.
St. Francis de Sales was built in the 1800’s by the Dominicans. This one of a kind piece of art is valued at $350.00. It will be available at the silent auction during the Heart to Heart Adopt-A-Student Dinner and Dance on February 9
th.
SS. Francis & John Parish and St. John School will be hosting a night of dining, dancing, and fun. The evening festivities include a concert by our own Hannah Staub, along with a raffle and silent auction. The theme of our night together is Heart to Heart: Adopt-a-Student - A Gift of Love. This event will be a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the spirit of giving so prevalent in our parish.
In addition, we will have the opportunity to celebrate a man who embodies this spirit of giving; a man who has given his life to serve others, and to nurture and hand on the Catholic faith through the mission of his priesthood and the catechesis of young Catholics for more than 50 years: Fr. Bob Nieberding.
Please come and celebrate with us on February 9th at Cardome Centre as we honor Fr. Bob, and join in a community celebration to support the vital mission of education and evangelization.
