I hope this note finds you warm and safe! St. John School celebrated Catholic Schools Week in grand style. The highlights included celebrating Mega Mass with the Bishop and all the other Catholic Schools, collecting items for Foster Care, helping sort food for the Amen House, playing games and visiting adults at the senior center, and the ice cream sundae finale. Thank you for all your support of Catholic education.
Congratulations to Kristin Drummond! She won first place in the 8th grade Cellular and Molecular Biology division at the Fayette County Science Fair. She is now eligible to move on to the regional competition.

Here's What's New!!
It's that time of year! You should have received a letter on Friday about how to register your student for the 2018-19 school year. Registration is open for current students only until Sunday, February 11th. Registration will open to parishioners on Monday, February 12th and to the public on Tuesday, February 20th. Current families can click here to download a copy of the registration letter. We will be doing registration completely online this year.

It was a fun filled silly night. The theme was “favorite movie” and the crowd did not disappoint.
Congratulations to our 2nd time winner of the trivia contest: Table Moana: starring the Ramseys, Younts, Hoffs and Andres! Also Congratulations to our 2nd time winner of the best table/theme for “The Force Unleashed”: starring the Hughes, Conklins, Muzinics and Roscoes.

Battle of the Rock Pep Rally This Friday!
When: 1:00pm Where: Georgetown College Rec Gym
Please join us for the Battle of the Rock pep rally on Friday, February 9. We will be recognizing our basketball, cheerleading and wrestling teams. There will be a basketball game with our 5th grade players competing against our 6th grade players and 7th grade vs. 8th grade. Our cheerleaders will also be showing off a routine or two! The basketball teams can wear their jersey to school and cheerleaders can wear their uniform as well. All students are encouraged to wear spiritwear to cheer on our teams!!

SIA would like to thank to Meighan Gassett, Emily Miller Balbaugh, Lisa Loy Case, Ginny Wynn Squires for providing muffins and helping serve, Julie Kautzmann Thompson for the bagels, Jennifer Russo for the donut holes, and Amy Kern Comer for running out to grab more milk and juice!
Friday's Ice Cream Social was also a YUMMY success! Thank you Lisa Loy Case, Ginny Wynn Squires, Carissa Boehmann-Yount, Heather-Michele Adkins and Beth Case Blankenship for helping plan and serve the kids!

Come eat breakfast and shop the book fair, then stay for Mass. Saturday, April 21st. Volunteer Appreciation Night at Slainte, 6pm - 9pm. Come out and join us as we thank YOU, the wonderful volunteers of Saint John School for all you do to make our school a great place! Monday, May 7th - Friday, May 11th. Art News February Art Clubs Arts and Crafts and Drawing K-3rd. Tuesdays 3-4 pm. Snack included. Cost $25. Drawing class Thursdays 3-4pm. 4th-8th grades. Students receive individual instruction for their skill level. $50. Snack included. Sketchbook Club meets Wednesdays for grades 1st-8th. 3-4 pm snack included. Meets on designated Wednesdays. This months February 14 & 28th. This club is for those whom want to increase their art skills but may have too many activities going on for a regular club. Self study based. Sketchbook club meets this January 31st from 3-4. Looking for unwanted tennis shoes with cool sole texture. If you have a pair of worn or unwanted shoes with a cool design on the sole we are looking for 18 pairs for a print making project for 2nd grade.
