Greetings,
I apologize for running two days late with the notes. Things are up and running smoothly this week. The students are working hard on the MAP test and I am seeing many positive gains. Due to the pandemic situation we will use this MAP Test to focus on important skills that need to be reinforced.
I would like to remind you that safety is one of our foremost concerns at St. John School. We have an emergency plan that is sent to the Scott County Emergency Management Office and safety drills that are practiced several times a year. The teachers are reminded to lock doors at all times.
As the pandemic continues and with new strains of the virus appearing, it is even more important that we diligently practice CDC safe health regulations. Also, there are many articles about the "loss of learning" with students not in school due to the pandemic. Being able to attend school most of the year will definitely benefit our students in many ways. So please continue to remind your children to wash hands, wear masks, and social distance.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell Principal

“The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11)
We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Good Shepherd to bring CHRIST IN MY HOME Ministry to SSFJ! Each week, a short video (no more than 10 minutes!) will be sent via email and posted on our SSFJ website. The videos will help you prepare for the following week's Gospel along with practical ideas for building your "domestic church". It is our hope that you will set aside a time to view the video as a family and invite Christ in to your everyday living!
Videos and discussion questions will be emailed out on Sunday afternoons and posted on the SSFJ Facebook Page & the SSFJ Website. School Year Calendar Click here to view the full school year calendar. This calendar is subject to change due to COVID.
After School You can contact the after school program by emailing [email protected] or by calling 502-642-0692. Please only call if you will be late picking up your child from after school.
