A Note From Mr. Mayer

Happy New Year & Welcome Back!

I hope that your break was rewarding and your time with family fulfilling. Once again, on behalf of the entire staff here at St. John School, thank you so much for your generosity with us this past Christmas. This community is a wonderful testament to the power of faith put into purpose.

As we journey into the new calendar year and begin the second half of our school year, here are a few items of interest for this month:

1. Bishop John will celebrate a Memorial Mass for Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI on Wednesday, January 4th, at 7 PM at the Cathedral of Christ the King. All clergy and members of the faithful are invited and encouraged to attend.

2. Report Cards for last quarter will go home tomorrow (Wednesday January 4th).

3. MAP Testing for our winter session will start next week (January 9th – 13th). The testing days will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with make up on Friday and the following week if needed. A reminder to get your students a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast to help them succeed on the MAP testing.

4. Monday, January 16th we will be observing the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. The SCHOOL IS CLOSED MONDAY JANUARY 16.

5. The school will be hosting its first OPEN HOUSE of the new year on Sunday, January 29th from 2-4 PM. This is a great time to invite friends to come see what this school has to offer their children. Please help us spread the word about the Open House and about what St. John School has done for your child/children. Word of mouth and personal invites continue to be one of the biggest drivers of enrollment even in this digital age.
