Please check out the article below on recycling. St. John School submitted enough TerraCycle recycling points to provide one week's supply of clean drinking water to 166 people who otherwise would lack this necessity. Way to go school and parish recyclers! The talent continues to shine at our school. Seventh grader Hana Johnson was awarded an invitation to attend a week of ballet Master Classes in NYC, Kristin Drummond's project qualified for the state science fair, and eighth grader, Jacob Noffsinger won the 13 year old state Knights of Columbus free throw competition . Please encourage your children to keep working hard as we finish this last week before spring break.Greetings,
God bless and work hard,
Dan Mardell
Here's What's New!!
World Water Day: March 22nd Did you know that there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home? They have to spend countless hours lining up or walking to distant sources, and then they must often cope with the health impacts of using contaminated water. Through our TerraCycle recycling program, St. John School submitted enough points last week to provide one week's supply of clean drinking water to 166 people who would otherwise lack access to this most essential element. That's one person for EVERY student in our school, so thank you to every St. John family who takes the time to recycle...we are teaching our children to give back and it IS making a difference!
Registration is open to the public. Please help spread the good news about our school. Click here to view the registration procedures or visit the school website at www.stjohnschoolonline.org
Please help the 5th grade class with their service project by donating the following items to ship to deployed soldiers:
We will put together packages on March 30th. If you would rather make a cash donation, please send in cash or check made payable to St. John School marked 5th grade and we will buy the supplies.
Thanks for making this happen!
VOICE QUESTION OF THE WEEK How does St. John's math program compare to other schools?
St. John School uses MAP Testing, a nationally-normed test, to glean student achievement over a period of time. While curriculum based testing is also used, MAP gives teachers, parents, and students an idea of how well they are performing compared to their same age peers.
Our St. John Students score significantly above the national average at most grade levels. Our middle school students, by 8th grade, are scoring significantly above the national average in math.
Did you know we recycle batteries? Please send in all your used batteries to the school office and we will safely dispose of them for you.
