We survived the wild weather of last week and are ready to roll into our final quarter of the year. Please encourage your children to work hard as this is a very important time to prepare them for the next grade level. Our 7th/8th grade boys ended their basketball season with a loss in the semi-finals of the Catholic league tournament. They played very hard and overall had an excellent season. Several of our robotics teams competed in the state competition and represented our school very well. Also, we had two students entered in the regional science fair. Kristin Drummond brought home a third place in the cellular biology division. Great job to everyone who participated in St. John extra-curricular events this weekend!!!!
It was a very busy weekend for the school and parish. If you haven't tried our Friday night fish fry check it out. It is an excellent source of good food and great comaraderie!!!!!!!
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell

VOICE QUESTION OF THE WEEK
We are sending a handout home with the students that includs an action plan developed from the last VOICE meeting and how we addressed the weaknesses expressed in the meeting. In addition, we are adding a VOICE question of the week in the notes to answer some more specific questions:
How is the curriculum for the school decided?
The Diocese of Lexington recommended that we follow the curriculum published by the Archdiocese of Louisville. The link to this curriculum can be found on the school website. Also, our teachers analyze MAP testing results to help address weaknesses and strengths of the students within the curriculum.
The computer lab will be open from 3 - 3:30 on Mondays for students who would like to take AR tests or practice typing.
