We could not have asked for a better day to have our annual field day. While the middle school ventured to Sky Zone for a morning of bouncing on trampolines, the rest of the school enjoyed inflatables and various games. Then we all came together to watch the egg drop at Georgetown College. The students had some great designs and many landed their egg without a scratch after dropping from them from the top of the firetruck ladder. However, I must admit the ones that splattered received the loudest cheers from the students. We ended the afternoon with several school wide relays, tug-o-war, and water balloon toss. By the end of the day the students were tired, but finished with big smiles. I want to thank all the parents who helped organize this special day. Without your help, field day would not have run so smoothly. Also, I would like to thank the Georgetown Fire Department for bringing their fire engine to use for the egg drop.

PepsiCo Recyling has notified us that we recently finished 14th nationally in their Annual Collection Contest. With this comes a prize of $2000 to be used on any type of Green Project or Improvement. This contest is a great way to help us be good stewards of God's environment and falls right in line with the mission of our school and church. I would like to give a special thanks to Bill Hulette for all his hard work and dedication with our recycling program. He is the heart and soul of this program at St. John School. Lastly, thank you to everyone who helped by bringing in or counting the cans and bottles.
God bless and take care,
Dan Mardell
