St. John School Newsletter
November 15, 2021
St. John Families:
Our season of giving is off to a great start. I am happy to report that the school raised just shy of $500 ($480 to be exact) this morning in our picture day fundraiser for the Not Alone Pregnancy Center!
Keep watching for the iGiveCatholic flyers and emails coming your way. Remember that this year's goal for our iGiveCatholic campaign is for expansion of the Cardome campus playground for use by the school. Also, details for the Book Drive to support the Toys for Tots program will be forthcoming.
As we work hard this week here at school, please remember to let the office know of any planned absences for your child. With next week being a short week to celebrate Thanksgiving, I am sure that a few of you have decided to lengthen the visit to relatives. Just give us a heads up, please. As always, if you reach out to the office by phone and no one answers, be sure to leave a voicemail. Our voicemail system is connected to our email program. This means that the office can listen to your voicemails without having to be at the desk.
Also, just wanted to point out to you that the eligible age range for Covid vaccinations now goes down to 5 years of age. Consider reaching out to your family physician or local health department (or even your local pharmacy) to get your questions answered about the Covid vaccine for you or your children. Thank you to all of you helping to keep the kids healthy this year and keep us with in-person learning.
Lastly, the basketball season for the parochial league kicks off this Saturday. The 5/6th girls play at 9:40 at St. Leo's in Versailles. The 5/6th boys also play in Versailles at 1:00. The 7/8th grade boys play at 1:50 at Christ the King in Lexington. All spectators should come prepared to wear a mask in the stands and all players and coaches should have a mask for when they are not actively participating on the court. Let's go Saints!
Peace,
Mr. Mayer

St. John School is excited to participate in this year’s #igivecatholic campaign on Giving Tuesday! Through the generous donations in past years, we have been able to purchase equipment and furniture for our classrooms. This year, we are hoping to raise $10,000 toward playground equipment for our new campus at Cardome. We are so grateful for the support of our community in helping our school become the best it can be for our students. Be sure to mark your calendars to help us meet our goal on Giving Tuesday!
