Notes From the Office: November 16th, 2020

Greetings,

With Thanksgiving drawing closer and the recent spike in Covid cases, many medical professionals are discouraging travel and large family gatherings. If you do decide to travel or attend large gatherings, please follow the protocols of wearing a mask, proper handwashing, and social distancing. By making wise, safe decisions we increase our chances of being able to stay with in person instruction.

Tuesday, December 1, is Giving Tuesday and # iGiveCatholic for St. John School. Last year the money raised was used to purchase furniture and equipment to update the kindergarten classroom. This year we will focus on the upgrades for our first grade classroom. The new updates are specifically designed to aid in teaching the elements of our STREAM program (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math). I would like to thank everyone who helped make this day of giving successful for our school last year. You can give online or send a donation to the office. More details will be coming in the next week.

CHRISTMAS CARDS
Our Christmas Card fundraiser has been a huge success!  Several grades are still in the process of completing their artwork.  Order forms with an example of their art will be sent home once they are finished.  We will continue to take orders through December 15th.  Thank You!

Trump Administration Extends Free Meals for Kids for Entire School Year!!!

“The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11)

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Good Shepherd to bring CHRIST IN MY HOME Ministry to SSFJ!  Each week, a short video (no more than 10 minutes!) will be sent via email and posted on our SSFJ website. The videos will help you prepare for the following week's Gospel along with practical ideas for building your "domestic church".   It is our hope that you will set aside a time  to view the video as a family and invite Christ in to your everyday living!

Videos and discussion questions will be emailed out on Sunday afternoons and posted on the SSFJ Facebook Page & the SSFJ Website.
