At Mass this past Sunday I sat next to a visitor from New Jersey. He commented on how nice it was to see so many young people at church, which was not the case in his parish. The gentleman was also impressed to see our children participate as servers, readers, greeters, and members of the choir. For me, this as just another reminder of what a great, vibrant parish we have at St. Francis and John.

St. John School Office Closed
The school office will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday 11/27 - 11/29. We hope you all have a safe and happy break!
Thanksgiving LunchOn Tuesday, November 26th, the only lunch served will be the Thanksgiving meal. No PBJ, or Grilled cheese sandwiches will be made.LINUX EXPERIENCE NEEDED
If you are proficient with the Linux operating system and are looking for a way to volunteer your time, we would love to have your expertise! For more details, please contact Renee Griese at [email protected].
Penny War
Beta Club is sponsoring a penny war to benefit those affected by the recent typhoon in the Philippines. The fundraiser will run from Monday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Dec. 6. The class with the highest total of pennies will win an ice cream party.
Pancake Breakfast with Santa
The Knights of Columbus Council #11470 is sponsoring an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Pancake Breakfast on December 8th, from 8-12 at Galvin's in Georgetown. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, milk, and coffee. Have your picture taken with Santa Claus while you whisper your wish list to him. Thecost of the event is only $5 per person (includes breakfast and a picture with Santa), kids under 2 are free. Money raised for this event will go to help the Knight's buy gifts for the less fortunate this Christmas season. Contact Pete DeCastro at [email protected] for more information.Gala Update
On December 8th, Gala committee members will be available after the 8:00 and 10:30 AM Masses to sell tickets for this year's Gala. If you want to donate something for the silent auction, they will be accepting them at this time as well. After getting your tickets, make sure to stop by Galvin's that day where the Knights of Columbus will be having their annual Breakfast with Santa!
Christmas Gift ShoppeDon't forget our Holiday shop starts December 2nd. The following classes will attend on December 2nd: K, 1, 2, & 4. On December 3rd, Pre-K, 3, 5, & 7 will attend. On December 4th, Pre-K & 6th grade will attend. If you do not see your childs class listed please contact their teacher to see when they will be attending.Used Uniforms Available For Sale

St. John School Christmas Program
On Friday, December 13th, St. John School will celebrate the Advent Season with a Christmas Music Program! Grades Kindergarten through fifth, will sing selections including "What Child Is This", "We Are Called", "Away In a Manger" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." The performance will be at 7pm in the church.
