St. John School Newsletter
September 13, 2021
Families:
I have a few updates for you.
1. You should have seen midterm grades over the weekend. Remember that this is an opportunity for you to see the direction that your student(s) are heading after the first few weeks of school. The first grading period ends on October 5, the last day before Fall Break. That means there is plenty of time for course correction, if needed.
2. Thank you to all those able to help with the cafeteria. We continue to need help serving and prepping the food. This is a great opportunity to get involved and as we expand the number of people helping, the easier the commitment becomes. Our food prep unit that will serve as the new kitchen is still held up at the manufacturer and like so many items out there, we are struggling to get an ETA on its arrival due to parts and labor shortages along the supply chain. When we get a firm date, I will be sure to share it with our community.
3. Please don't forget about those Raffle Tickets!! Big fundraiser for the school's operation. Please get those sold and turned in to the office as soon as possible.
4. Lastly, thank you for your efforts in communicating when your child is sick or needs to be kept home from school. When there are Covid test results or quarantines due to qualified contacts, please be sure to send the school something in writing (email will be sufficient) so that we can have a record of our communications. We are doing our best at contact tracing and speaking with Wedco as quickly as we can, so please reach out to us right away so that we can stay on top of it.
Peace,
Mr. Mayer

Yearbook Volunteer Needed
We are looking for someone to head up our yearbook. Last year, we were unable to put together a yearbook as we did not have a volunteer who wanted to do this. If you are interested, please reach out the office at [email protected]. We have former volunteers who will gladly show you how to do it.

Don't Forget to Sell Your Tickets!
You can drop off the tickets at the office or place them in a sealed envelope to return with your child (Just mark the envelope "Raffle Tickets" or mark it with "OFFICE"). Thanks to those who have already turned in some ticket sales

School breakfast and lunch will be free for all students for the 2021-22 school year. This takes the burden off of families while they continue to recover from the pandemic. We still need our families to apply for free/reduced lunches if applicable, click here. These applications affect receipt of the P-EBT cards the government has been sending out as well as grant money the school receives from the state.
