We had a lot of children sing in the choir at 10:30 Mass yesterday. Thank you to all the students who participated.
Fr. Linh helped with a PE class on Friday. The kids loved it!
St. John Soccer started this weekend. The kids played great!
Thank you to all the Grandparents who came out on Friday to celebrate Grandparents Day with our preschool!

Principal's CornerGreetings,Time flies - it is hard to believe that we are halfway through the first quarter! All four soccer teams were all in action this weekend and did well. Our students did an awesome job leading and singing at the 10:30 Mass. Also, MAP testing is completed except for a few make up test. The results show that our students are doing well and retaining material they have been taught. More importantly, the results give us a good indicator of the students' strengths and areas we need to work on with them.Be sure to check our bulletins and website because there are many fun activities, such as family movie night, coming soon. Word of mouth and the St. John School website are two of our best recruiting tools. So please keep spreading the news about all the great things happening at St. John School. I feel truly blessed to be at St. John School where the motto, "Where mind and spirit grow", is very much alive!

Here's What's New:Facebook UsersWhen you post pictures to Facebook of things our students are doing, please use the hashtag #welovestjohnschool. By using this hashtag we can share more amazing pictures of the great things happening at St. John School on the official school Facebook page.Computer Lab HoursThe Computer Lab is open on Mondays from 3-3:30for students who would like to take AR tests or practice typing.PE t-shirts and school sweatshirtsYou can order PE shirts and school sweatshirts from Parker. The web address is www.parkersu.com/store/school/7219 . You do not have to wear this PE shirt every Friday. On Friday's students may wear any St. John t-shirt that you may have. This includes recycling shirts and spirit wear shirts. Please contact the office if you have any questions.Double "S" StampedeVolunteers are needed on Saturday, September 19th to help with this large cross country race. We need 4 volunteers to help with parking. There are 2 shifts - 7:30-9:45 & 9:45 - 12:00. We need 6 volunteers for the course. You will just be directing and keeping an eye on the runners. We also need 6 volunteers for the chute. The chute is the end of the race and you will be keeping runners in line, handing out water, etc. The course and the chute have 2 different shifts as well from 8:30-10:15 and 10:15-12:00. You only need to create an account at mycokerewards.com and enter the codes off of your coke products. You can then donate them to St. John School. Our school just received a check for over $330 from those who donate to our school.Free fundraisingDon't forget to turn in your box tops, labels for education and my coke rewards! These are free fundraisers because you are already buying these products.Save the Date!Fall Family Movie, Dinner & S'mores Night!
Friday, September 25, at Double Saints Property
We will be visiting K-5th classrooms and taking a vote on what movie to watch! Last Spring was such a success! Both kids and adults had a great time! Each class will be responsible for contributing food for this event. More information to come in the school notes and through the room moms! Also, if there are any 6th-8th grades who would like to volunteer to "watch" the younger kids during the movie, please let me know. Interested in helping?

LCHS Middle School BasketballWill form teams for the following grades: 5 th , 6 th , 7 th , and 8 th.A ll 4 teams will have their own schedule and will play in Lexington and around the area. Teams will practice 2 to 3 times per week till the season starts and then play 2 or 3 games a week. The season will run from October to February.The coaches for the teams are members of the Lexington Catholic basketball staff. They have expansive knowledge of how the High school team runs its program. Most of Lexington Catholics High School basketball team's players have come from the middle school team. There will be cuts for each team and there is no guarantee of playing time. If you have any questions please contact Coach Brandon Salsman at [email protected].
