Greetings,
There are many great things going on in our classrooms. Please feel welcome to visit and see what your children are studying. Also, the robotics club is really growing. New equipment has been purchased and the students are having a great time.
This weekend I had the opportunity to watch our students defend their "home turf" at the Double S Stampede cross country meet. The students did an excellent job running a tough course on a hot day. Please check out all the results below. The coaches from St. John School and Scott County received many compliments on how smooth and efficient the meet ran. All the St. John School soccer teams were also in action. At this time, I have not received any results.
I attended our last weekend of bingo at the old bingo hall. Next week we begin a new era of bingo. The new bingo hall will provide a great, clean environment for everyone. Bingo has provided over 1 million dollars for our school and church over the last 10 years. This money has helped with many school and parish programs. Please consider helping make this a bigger success.
Lastly, I would like offer a big thank you to those who help coach, work bingo, or help the school in any other capacity. Without your help and support we would not be able to do all the things we do.

Athletic Jackets
Parents, With cooler temperatures coming, it is time to place an order for athletic jackets. This will be the only order we do prior to Christmas so if you want one as a Christmas gift please order it now. If you do, please mark that this is a gift and we won't give it to your child at school but will work on an arrangement to get it to you. Painting with a twist
Join us for a fun afternoon of painting and socializing for a great cause! All proceeds will benefit the 7/8th grade 2017 DC trip, so invite your friends and family. New Student Management System
We will be sending out instructions this week to access your Ascend Accounts. Please sign and return the bottom portion of the letter you receive so we know you can access your account. Please contact the school office or your child'd teacher if you have any questions.
TRIVIA NIGHT
Saturday, October 1st - 7:30 pm at Cardome
Give your brain a workout while having fun and supporting our students! The first annual St. John School Trivia Night will be held October 1st at 7:30pm. Get a team of 8 people together for some friendly competition for the grand cash prize and all proceeds will go towards new textbooks. All Players have a chance to win door prizes! Must be 21 years old to play and $30 per couple. You can bring your own food and refreshments. Registration forms will be sent home in students folders today or click here.

After School Art Clubs
Each month the art room offers after school art clubs and drawing class.
Mondays Art Club 4th grade through 8th grade. $25 includes snack. 3pm- 4pm. Club explores a variety of artists and art mediums.
Tuesdays Arts & Crafts Clubs. $25 includes snack. 3pm-4pm. A variety of arts and crafts and fun for students K-3rd grade.
Thursdays Drawing class. $50 includes snack. 3-4pm. For students 1st-8th grade. This class focuses on basic to complex drawing skills and drawing materials with a focus on the needs of each individual student.
October's clubs and class start October 3rd. If interested please contact Miss Barb in the art room at [email protected].
Computer Lab Hours
The computer lab will be open from 3 - 3:30
on Mondays for students who would like to take AR tests or practice typing.
Bingo VIP Positions
We are in desperate need of callers, front desk and back desk workers. These positions are mostly seated. Training can be done on site. Please email the school office if you are interested in learning one of these bingo positions. Click here for a detailed job description.
Wendy's Fundraiser
We have joined with Wendy's for a wonderful new fundraising opportunity! You will be receiving vouchers to use for 1 year at most area Wendy's restaurants. A list of participating Wendy's stores will also come home. Click here for the link to print more vouchers to use.
