Here's What's New!!
Important After School Information Due to the Festival of The Horse Parade on Friday, September 6th, there will be no after school. The parade lines up on Military Street and the city starts closing the roads in the area for the parade. We are sorry for any problems this may cause but it is out of our control.
Early Release Day September 17th On Tuesday, September 17th, St. John School will have early dismissal at 1 PM. The teachers will be attending curriculum workshops in Lexington with teachers from Catholic schools in our Diocese. We will have after school for those who regularly attend the program. If you are not in after school and this causes a problem with your work schedule, please RSVP to attend after school. The cost for this day will be $20. Even if you normally attend the after school program, please RSVP so we can make sure we have proper supervision. To RSVP, please email [email protected]
Cross Country Update Your St John CC team is off and running for the 2019 season!! There are 27 mighty harriers and all of the student athletes are putting forth tremendous effort in some steamy August weather!
We have run our first 2 meets this past week: one at the Archives in Frankfort and the other in Grant County this past Saturday. There has already been great team and individual accomplishments in both competitions. Our 5th-8th grade boys finished 2nd out of 11 teams on the very hilly Archives course, highlighted by the individual accomplishment of John Reinhart running the 0.93 mile course in 4:53, the course record for middle school. We had several runners running their very first cross country race this day, and they did extremely well! These students included Carly Taylor, Samuel Mayer, Samuel Walters, and Alex Walters. 18 runners improved their times from last year! At Grant County, ALL of the runners improved significantly on their times over the same course last year! Top 30 performers this day were Mark Reinhart, Lilly Dozer, Coen Noble, and Gianna Neaves!
The St John CC team runs each of the next 4 weekends - come out and cheer on your classmates who are doing a great job representing our special school!

Changes for the 2019-2010 Yearbook After producing the St. John School yearbook for the last eight years, the current yearbook volunteers have both taken on new responsibilities at the school. As a result, it is necessary for them to step away from the yearbook. If there are any parents or relatives of students who are interested in taking this project on, we would love to hear from you! Responsibilities include taking photographs at school events (or finding others that can provide photos), creating yearbook themes and pages with a very user-friendly online program, submitting documents by deadline dates, and marketing the yearbook. These tasks could be completed by an individual or a committee. We are happy to provide training to anyone who is interested! You can be responsible for carrying on the St. John yearbook tradition! Please contact the office for details.
